there is a bug that the first time you play, the menu screen particle effect scripts are still running. this causes the particles to be made even when the player is not touching the ground, and twice as many when the player is touching the ground. you do a great job making these.

Small thing I'd like to add. In GD, usually there are bigger particles coming out of the ship when you hold down the spacebar. Just wanted to point that out, so you can spawn bigger particles in case the spacebar is being held down.

I have been waiting for this tutorial for a long time. I always wanted a space-ship mode in my geometry dash levels. I tried to find a tutorial, and I found your Geometry Dash video. I excitedly watched it to understand how to make a good geometry dash - with ship.
@Smurdy1 Жыл бұрын
i'd reccomend making the ship lighter, as in nearly every recreation of geometry dash that I play, the ship feels like it goes downward a lot faster than in the real game. Don't know if you have any control over that, though.
@nathangamingytm7124 Жыл бұрын
yes actualy in the define ship movement in the if key space pressed or mouse down then in the else you can change speed y to -O.75 OR -0.5 to make it lighter
@griffpatch Жыл бұрын
Also the maximum downwards speed is -10, you can reduce this to -9 perhaps... Bit I think the angle is 45 degrees which is what this gives

Point in direction: {90 + [speed y * -4]} acheives the same ship effect, and you can replace that -4 with anything you like and make hilarious wildly turning ships (which make straight fly much harder) or even make ships which turn in the opposite direction of where you are going. Plus it makes the code a lot simpler!

I noticed that the small particle effects are still spawning at the player while in mid air, even in regular platform/cube mode. I suspect it is because you added the particle effects to keep spawning at the title screen. This is noticeable at the beginning of your video. I assume this is a mistake, or intended? I am sure you could fix this by simply checking if the project is on the title screen menu, or in game mode. Otherwise, great video! Do you plan to eventually go to the new contrast blocks fully in future videos, or stay consistent with the old colors as you said in this video? Looking forward to more of your amazing tutorials! :)
@nathangamingytm7124 Жыл бұрын
griffpatch used an forever block in the player sprite so the particles keep on spawning forever the way i recommend to do it is to create a new varibale named play for all sprites and set it to 0 when flag cliked and instead of a forever block use a repeat until play=1 and go to title sprite and in the when this sprite is clicked set play to 1 and there you go it should work cause it worked for me

I've been following along with this tutorial, and it's quite fun! What i've also noticed, is that 1: you have a mouse click sound every time you, well, click. I was wondering if that was edited in afterwards, or you just have a loud mouse. 2: how long does it take to write all of the subtitles? Yes, if you aren't the man himself reading this, he writes all of the subtitles, instead of using the unreliable auto generated ones. Love the vids, and Scratch on!
