this is so cute! I love that you did a modern version of a look that's easy to recreate with products most people already have. those celebrity transformation/SFX makeup videos people do are fun to watch but most of us can't recreate it. it would be really cool if you did some other "inspired" looks from different eras or your favourite celebrities of different eras :)

Ok, I caught this video and had to watch because I am 55 and I started to wear makeup in the “Farrah” era (had the haircut also, lol). We did NOT have bronzer then at all, we baked the crap out of ourselves using baby oil and iodine and made reflectors out of cardboard and aluminum foil to make SURE we baked our face! I am super fair so freckles were definitely there and you are correct when you say “probably from sun damage”!! I can promise you this was a bad idea, lol, I have the sunspots to prove it! You guys are lucky in this generation to be able to fake the tan and have bronzers and highlighters that we didn’t then (I look much better in my 50s)! Eyeliner: we used a pencil eyeliner that we would wave a lit lighter over to get SUPER dark black and lined the lower waterline with it. (DO NOT try this now!!!! Eyeliner today is pigmented and softer and this is not necessary today!!!!!). BTW: you nailed the look!! Great memories!!!

I'm almost 55, and I agree with all of these observations! I remember the baby oil and iodine and those reflective silver mats for sunbathing. Oh my. We all tried so hard to get those "wings" in our hair, and it was definitely the go-to style when I was in high school. The one weird thing I recall,( and can see in yearbook photos for evidence!) is that for some reason, a really white under eye area was popular. That and the brow bone highlight in bright white. Blush was often exaggerated, at least with the teen crowd, too. I don't recall using liner on my lower rim (waterline as you now know it) until the 80s. Your look here is so much more flattering, believe me!

I'm 55 and this is all true. No bronzers. We didn't have thousands of makeup choices, only what was available at the drug store. I remember reading magazine articles to duplicate Farrah's makeup. I loved her! She was always so tanned and gorgeous. Good job! You're gorgeous too!
