Always amazes me how Freddie acapella sounds pretty much the same, listen to some vocalists and theres a big difference, the music almost props their voice up whereas Freddie naturally had all the melody in his voice...so impressive! Raw Talent!

Freddy Mercury had one of the greatest singing voices of all time. As lead singer of Queen he was amazing but he could easily have made it to the top without a band (no disrespect to the other amazing members of Queen who he made beautiful music with). He was one of a kind...

I am not so sure. I agree, Freddie was in my opinion the greatest male singer ever, but Queen were all amazingly talented. Freddie was also a great composer, but a lot of Queen greatest songs weren't written by him. Plus even the songs actually written by him were influenced by Roger, Brian and John, who were all perfectionists and cared about every detail. Just look at Mr Bad Guy: it isn't a bad album, but was a flop, mainly because (IMO) Freddie couldn't face the opinions of the band. I mean he still sounds like God but you can feel that the music isn't as good as the one by Queen.
