L. Shankar is one of my all time favorite musicians. I have been blessed to have seen him live on 3 different occasions along with Zakir Hussain. Just phenomenal. I never knew of this session. Very cool. I agree with those reviewers. Why would you say Larry is out of tune? Strange. And he is right in time as well. A beautiful different angle on this style of music. I enjoyed his contribution. Shankar has such a feeling and tone to his music. Wonderful.

Love Coryell here. He stepped in on short notice and played beautifully!

He was lost (not even in the same key) until he miraculously 'channelled' John McLaughlin to take the solo. Haha...Coryell's a great player.....though it sounds like he's not familiar with the music.

Think he was playing in place of J.McLaughlin who had fractured his hand.

You dont seem to know what youre talking about: Larry was a brilliant musician and fitted right alongside John & the Shakti guys; he is TOTALLY in the right key! Get some ears! Also I saw Larry play with these guys in Scotland in 1987 - he was stunning in the most complex of Indian style fusion music. The band was Peshkar

Song Sabai reveals severe ignorance regarding Coryell's ability to fit with the ongoing motif. His playing is very fine here, very Coryellish and attune to the prevailing style.
