You'll never know. *With Love*...If you are still functioning, feet, legs, back, fingers, back, and still in your right mind, kiss the ground, and give God the praise. I realize, I said back twice, and for a Reason, and all know the reason. Know this, you're still breathing, Dwight!!! Ask God for help, perhaps, He might have some answers for you, seriously He just might. It's too close to the end Dwight, to ease out like this. Stop it, and start thinking of ways, if nothing else, to relax and find ways to make your self feel better, if no one else will. God Bless, and you're in my prayers! *2020* a change!

Yes they do! What he and his wife said of working? Is exactly what I've said of myself. And guess what? *I enlisted in the Marine Corps And Now A 100% Disabled Vet.* Declared 25 Years After Service And Held A Job Up To The Determination. *Engineering Made Sure I Couldn't Start A Family!* S.S. Decision Within Weeks Of The Hearing. 25 years after 100% V.A. Medical Treatments And Surgery? Not a doctors decision to say if a vet is disabled. *They Use Lawyers And People Pretending To Be Lawyers, People To Filter Out Claims, To Prevent Claims Going Further.* My first claim form was thrown in the garbage before my face. Why? Receptionist said I had to see a special doctor first. *Truth was this is the doctor you see after winning your Lawsuit/Claim!*

What beautiful people with such an important story to tell. My son is spending the summer with my mom out of state but when he comes home I want him to watch this. We need to listen to the stories of our elders. They are wise. I also believe that everyone who is able should serve at least one term in the military. I do not like how the military tosses folks aside after they don't need them anymore, but I come from a family with a long proud history of serving our country. When my brother left for basic training he was at risk of going down the wrong path. He came home a man. A good man. A good father and provider. And we all have a strong work ethic. I really loved this. RIP Mr. Self. Thank you.

I wish I had pictures of my dad being in there. We only have one picture of my dad in the army. I miss him so much. He told us stories of his time in with them. His horse was named Nora she was beautiful he said. When he got out he was a farmer. The government then didn’t really take care of their veterans they way they should. We struggled but we had love and brought up with a Christian up bringing .

Brought me to tears. Thank you Nolan Self for your service to your country. Thank you for sharing your story and your beautiful wife with us. Do you ever look at generations past with their struggles of either war, poverty, racism etc. (everything life throws at you to break your spirit) and think some generations are just better at overcoming adversity and struggle? They walk with dignity and pride. I am in awe. My dad was born in 1925 in Yorkshire, England, my mom in a little mining town on the south island of New Zealand called Westport in 1930. Growing up the phrase "carry on" was used a lot in my home. I find myself using that same phrase to describe these generations who overcome great struggles personally and as a country. With the life lessons learned safely tucked in their pockets but most of all with head held high and such dignity, they just "carry on" and make it look so effortless and simple.

I love these Life Stories. And I am so happy I watched this documentary. I very thankful to come across this. I’m thankful and Humbled. Such a lovely Couple. Thank you Rip Nolan Self 🙏🏽I’m truly emotional . I apologize . My Mother is named after my grandfather’s nurse in WW2. ( Both of my grandfathers fought in)Everyone names are so simple aside my mothers. She was made fun of in school but, She didn’t really care for her name until a in depth conversation was held. And the nurse that nursed him back to health he saw her so much he remembered her name and said if he ever has another daughter that would be her name. He was always known a a very stand man I’ve never heard a bad thing about him. He had is girl and she is named after that kind nurse. She never knew her impact of my grandfather’s life. My mom is 57 and proud of her name.... as am I . Her father passed a few decades ago but, is Birthday was a few days ago Nov.17 th...... My other Grandfather is alive and going strong. Be Blessed to all here.🙏🏽

"Do It With Your Heart." A beautiful American's story. A family story. A story of Gods faithful. Just wonderful. Of course there were so many dismal and trying times along the way. But triumph prevailed and virtue defeated what assailed. I would love to hear following interviews with the family today. God Bless America!
