Not even sure if you read these comments, but as someone who enjoys your chess content even the 3 minute stuff, I would still prefer if you played 1 longer time control game per episode like a 10m or 15m with increment, do a quick engine analysis of that game, then finished each episode with a few blitz games. You'll also be able to play better whilst commentating in the longer time controls without so much time pressure forcing silly blunders. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the egg is scared to lose his elo (he's said multiple times when contemplating to play 10 minute chess that "he's not a 1500 anymore") which is understandable but that's what elo is for at the end of the day. If you get worse your elo should reflect that and it's perfectly fine. Now if he just enjoys playing 3 minute more then that's just how it is the egg should do what he likes to do

4:40 This is one of the worst chess games I've seen in 20 years. This game should be laminated or uploaded in PDF format with every chess beginner being required to see it in order to demonstrate why sticking with 10 minute, 15 minute, and 5+increment is not only the right way to play as a beginner, it's the only way to play. 5:00 Opponent literally hangs two bishops in one move.

I mean, it's pretty obvious that the "That's why you never resign" comment was lampooning people who say "That's why you never resign", so resigning is the most consistent thing to follow up with :]
@maxkho00
@maxkho00 2 жыл бұрын
It is absolutely inarguably much less winnable than the previous one. There are many known fortresses in Q v R endgames with a couple of pawns on the board for each side, AND NL was up a pawn in addition to that. It was completely reasonable to play. In the one that he resigned, he was just down a full rook and kept trading pieces. If he wasn't gonna go for Be4 Ng4 (threatening checkmate) or h7 g6 g5, trying to launch a kingside attack, there was no reason to play on ─ he was just going to lose.
@dedmanwalken8565
@dedmanwalken8565 2 жыл бұрын
@@maxkho00 I remade both games at the point of the original blunder; it's less than a point difference. Given the opponent could very easily blunder at some point like in the first game, I think the idea of "you never know what will happen" still stands as much as it did in the game he didn't resign.
@maxkho00
@maxkho00 2 жыл бұрын
@@dedmanwalken8565 I don't really believe that, but even if so, practically speaking, the position you're speaking of is far more difficult to come back from. The engine sometimes gives +4 - +5 in known fortresses (forced draws), so something similar may be going on here.

He does this so often, I think he just loses confidence and tunnel visions on whatever his opponent is threatening without considering danger levels (ironic as he says it all the time). I basically only play Rapid these days and I flagged someone today in a position that was just absolutely lost and it just doesn't really feel earned tbh - it's a part of the game and I'll take it but part of me honestly wants to resign and give the guy the win because he earned it on the board by playing better moves, but then again those moves took him too long to find so maybe he deserves to lose - but yeah, still doesn't feel earned - Blitz and Bullet is different though, anything goes in those time controls.
