As much as we loved Kurt, Chris Cornell of Soundgarden really was the stand out voice of the 90s and early 2000s. All of the groups he was in were soectacular and his voice was richer with age. We lost a legend and im still not over his death.

When Chris passed, I feel like there were so many songs/lyrics that showed his state of mind, but we missed it 💔 R.I.P. Chris Cornell, no one sings like you anymore
@13_13k
@13_13k 3 ай бұрын
I don't think anyone "missed" what Chris wrote about and how it pertained to his mental health, state of mind, hid struggles with loss, addiction, fame, love and humanity in his eyes and his heart. People choose what they want to hear, most of the time. Also, so much music or I should say, so many lyrics written in the history of music and up to this very day are about the human struggles of those same issues I listed above that the listening audience takes it as just a story or a poem, at face value and they don't want to or aren't engaged enough and have no reason to question the singer/writer of the lyrics about his/her actual battles with depression, angst, fear, calls for help, admitting weaknesses and the spiral down a dark path. Then when that person's life ends in tragedy, some are shocked and surprised, which is a sign of not paying attention to the actual songs written, or people have a reaction of, oh my God we should have seen the signs but we just didn't think it could be possible because they have fame and money and that brings happiness and fullfilment, when it doesn't do either. It's more weight and pressure on the person. Everyone should know by now that pain, sadness, hardship, loneliness, etc... are the things that make great songwriting and the writer almost always pays the price at an early age and we lose them as a living person but have their music/lyrics to listen to over and over to look for the obvious signs that have always been there but no one cared enough to do something helpful for that person.

It’s heartbreaking that he helped so many of us, but in the end we couldn’t help him. There’s always going to be a part of me that will never get over this loss.
@13_13k
@13_13k 3 ай бұрын
@@Grungycat67 --- I agree. The loss of Chris is a tragedy that has effected so many people and not only in the loss of his talent in music and songwriting and singing, but his voice in the fight for kids that are abused, homeless, being trafficked, and his other social endevours that were positive for humanity. That's why there are questions and facts that show some evidence, not enough solid, but real evidence that Chris's death may have been caused by foul play, not only for his money but to keep the giant, well funded, well supported by government and law enforcement of child trafficking. When you add into that possibility that Chris's widow, Vickie, or Vicky, I can't remember how she spells her name, from what has been spoken about her by people that knew she and Chris that it wasn't beyond her to be a willing participant in ending Chris's life because it would be a win win situation for her. And then add the death of Chester, being Chris's best friend also a partner in exposing the trafficking corruption among government, law enforcement, and I forgot to add the last time I listed these but the celebrity aspect of that huge problem going on in our own country that always seems to get shut down when there is a breakthrough like with Jeffrey Epstien, Gislane Maxwell, the Clintons and Clinton Foundation, Oprah and the thousand or so children still unaccounted for missing from the Maui fire, and the list goes on and on but it always ends before any real arrests are made and before any names are made public with full evidence. They off Epstein, convict and imprisoned Maxwell for being the provider of underage victims and they have her client list but not one client is arrested. The people who are the actual criminals, that if they were average Tom, Dick, and Harry would have been rounded up immediately and publicly convicted and thrown in prison with much fanfare and media celebration nonstop for years but none of that is happening because of who the guilty parties are. Chris and Chester got too close to the Sun with what they uncovered and both of their deaths are questionable as to what really happened and there are no coincidences in real life. That is what is the most tragic aspect of Chris's and Chester's lives, above their personal demons and living with all that they suffered during their lives before and after fame and fortune.

Both bands were shot out of the same cannon. Seattle had a distinct sound at the time -- grunge was a subset of that. Nirvana was playing the Crocodile Cafe my second year of college -- I remember a guy coming home one night saying, "I just heard this fucking amazing band. They're called Nirvana." Around the same time I stumbled into a free Soundgarden concert at the Seattle Center. A year later, the scene blew up.

I saw Audioslave at Lollapalooza just as they were breaking out. Chris Cornell’s stage presence was electrifying. His ability to go from clean to nasty and back again with that voice was amazing and not “studio magic”.

🩷 You should definitely check out more Chris!!! His vocals are right up there with Layne & Chester's. And even Phil Anselmo back in the day.

Chris Cornell was a rare talent, who I think will be remembered, now that he’s being recognized by this generation.

My 2 personal favorite from Soundgarden are Power Trip and Mailman. Both give me chills, and draw me into his world.
