Other comments I have seen said that this song, at least in its first incarnation "Get a Line on You" was inspired by bandmember Brian Jones and his struggles with drugs.

New Subscriber here. Scrolled through and watched many, but did not find any Rush. If you like Danny Carey and Bonham from Zeppelin then you will thoroughly enjoy Rush. Neil Pert is an amazing drummer. They’re a 3 man band, with huge sound. Try Spirit of the Radio as your first listen or perhaps Tom Sawyer as the first.

Rolling Stones are incredible. My Uncle, 82 years old, has attended EVERY Rolling Stones concert for every tour that has been in California and some other states and other countries, since the very first time they played in America, starting in 1965 ,including Altamont, up until the most recent show at SoFi Stadium in L.A. . I've seen them perform only twice, 1'm almost 59 yrs old, both times at the L.A. Coliseum and of course made a plan to meet with my Uncle both times. He has never missed a Stones concert tour over 60 yrs and I think he said around 45 or 50 times he has seen them live probably more because he would see them play on multiple nights in a row.

The Stones are older than the mag by years. Shine A light is on side two of this double album, all the tunes are good IMO, but you should check out "Loving Cup" & "Sweet Black Angel" on this record. Angela Davis was a Civil rights activist, and she was the Sweet Black Angel Mick was singing about. On Loving Cup you'll hear Keith Richard singing lead, also on "Happy" Tho Mick has sung it elsewhere. Keith is the heart of the Stones IMO. He's also the other half of "The Glimmer Twins", they wrote most all of the Stones songs. You will find a few where others have been named. Including Robert Johnson, the Blues Legend and Mick Taylor, the then excellent teen guitar player for parts of Ventilator Blues. Mick Taylor shines on “Time Waits for No One” on the 'It's Only Rocking 'N Roll' Album. Listen to those lyrics and remember, Hours are like Diamonds, don't let them Waste.... Enjoy the Stones and Remember, It's Only Rock 'N Roll my Friend and they are still doing it 60 years later! The first Stop of the Stones second Tour was on June 24, 1966. I paid $4.50 a piece for two tickets in the Manning Bowl, Lynn Massachusetts. The Girls never stopped screaming. I've been to many others and the tickets were always in the Hundreds of dollars for cheap seats. The sets have gotten better as have the sound systems.

The Stones were worshiping at the alter of the great blues greats. They adored American blues artists and that is how the band began. Teenagers coveting and sharing rare blues vinyl from the states. They are considered the "World's Greatest Rock and Roll band" for a reason. Every stinking record up until Some Girls in the 80s was a masterpiece (with the exception of Black and Blue, perhaps...somebody change my mind? ) BUT...the period from Beggars Banquet to It's Only Rock and Roll were pure sick magic. Absolutely brilliant music. You deserve to listen to these albums...in their entirety. No joke...

The Rolling Stones have the ability to rearrange my DNA. It's akin to being in the presence of a multitude of dieties. At least for me, that's how it is every single time I hear the music or see them live. It's always a spiritual experience for me. After walking out of a Stones concert I feel reborn. Thank you boys for being a part of every one of my 60 years on this planet. I hope to have many more. Thanks for giving The Stones listen.

By the time our oldest daughter graduated from high school, in 2005, my husband and I had seen The Stones so many times. We raised our girls on our rock and roll and they loved it. Our daughter's 18th birthday was a few days after she graduated. So for graduation or her b-day...one of the 2, we gave her tickets to the Rolling Stones at Fenway Park in Boston. That was one happy individual. Eventually when she got married. Her first song that she and her husband danced to was Wild Horses.

Mick & Keith met because of Muddy Waters. Both MASSIVE BLUES FANS, Keith recognized Mick from his younger days in his old neighborhood and saw that he had a brand new, very hard to get Muddy Water's album under his arm. They sparked up a conversation over that album. They jammed, they formed a band. They Played in a lot of dank places. They got a real job, a real paying job. But they had to have a name. Brian Joans was booking them in on the phone. When asked for the band's name, Brian looked down, Muddy's album was lying on the floor, and his eyes locked in on Muddy's song, "Rollin Stone". Brian told the agent on the phone, "Rollin Stone". And the rest is history.

This tune comes at the end of what I think is the best rock & roll album ever. Was never much of a Stones fan growing up, but one day about two years ago I threw on Exile on Mainstreet and suddenly realized that what I was listening to was the absolute apex of rock & roll. Not that there hasn't been fantastic music since, but rock sort of just branched out and became so many different things after this record. To me Exile on Mainstreet is rock & roll's magnum opus.

In 2008, the movie director Martin Scorsese made a documentary on the Rolling Stones during 2 concerts they gave at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. The title is 'Shine a light'. It is a must see for all those Stones fans. There is a great similitude to the song 'The Midnight Special'; a traditional folk song. Credence Clearwater Revival had a big hit with this one.
