Before Gangster Rap, Rolling Stone was basically the same. I`m not even sure there was anyone in-between, time line vise, rap just toke over where hard Rock let go, and Metal went underground. Hells Angels MC 1969 Altamont Concert (2003) kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHrEq4iNZ82mg8U

Most just mention Woodstock, the summers of love, but also death, a slow death of ideas. Ides of peace, and civility. Lets hope we can live the lie long enough that it don`t matter to us, toke over.

@@Tommysimonsen I saw Timothy Leary speak in about 1985 a year or two before his death, I think. He (metaphorically) preached about LSD, addiction, space and other cool stuff. After his talk he took questions and two old hippies accused him to his face of working for the FBI, helping to destroy the 60s dreams of peace and love and revolution. I thought they were cranks but I was just a kid. Now I just don't know. It sure does seem to me that that the world has been in decline since 1970 or so. Anyway, enough of that.

You want to start with their earlier stuff... the songs that made them superstars...and see them perform when they were younger... Satisfaction, Ruby Tuesday, 19th Nervous Breakdown, Paint It Black, Get Off My Cloud, and anything from the albums Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, or Exile on Main Street.... this is the stuff their reputation was built on

Oh goodness - there are dozens and dozens of absolutely classic and/or peak Rolling Stones. You’ve got to go back to 60s and 70s for the very best Stones. Paint It Black, Gimme Shelter, Sympathy for the Devil, Factory Girl, Tumbling Dice, Satisfaction (arguably their most famous song), She’s a Rainbow, 19th Nervous Breakdown, You Can’t Always Get What You Want (studio version is a must), Moonlight Mile, Angie, I could go on and on!

Good one Polo. Keith Richards is to the Stones what Jimmy Page is to Zeppelin or Tom Morello is to Rage. They are the nucleus and the engine of their bands. Keith Richards is the OG. He's always been an incredible guitar player but he's also a walking encyclopedia of history and knowledge. Very intelligent

Mick and Keith have known each other since they were around 6 years old. They met up again in 1961 when Keith saw Mick carrying some albums from the Chess Record company. Their mutual love of American music has been evident in all they have done.

This is from a free concert in Havannah, Cuba attended by an estimated 450,000 in March 2016 around the time Pres Obama visited. Rock up until this time had been all but banned in Cuba. The ban apparently didn't work as most of the audience can be seen singing along. The DVD is Havannah Moon and is worth a watch. Always a great show. Great tunes too many to mention... enjoy the ride!!!

You need to see Mick's moves when he was young. Also, it's been said that Keith Richards kept a straight true never deviating beat and Mick Jagger just played around it never quite completely on the beat... that dissonance made their music ear candy ... We just didn't know why. Also these guys are in their 60's and 70's and still going strong....wow!

Rolling Stones is my favorite band since the 70s when I saw them 2x, 2x in 80s, 3x in the 90s and again in 2022. Ok, I dated myself 😂. There's nothing like Stones live. So many great live performances to react to. Gimme Shelter, Monkey Man, Miss You when Lisa Fischer was with them. Midnight Rambler. Tina Turner and Mick Jagger singing Brown Sugar together with the Stones in Tokyo. Tina and Mick's performance at Live Aid. She loved playing with the Rolling Stones, they toured together, she influenced Mick's dancing when she was with Ike, touring with then 60s. They're so much alike in their energy.

I think it was April, 1964 when their first studio album made it to the US. In 2019, they released their 30th. That doesn’t include all the live albums, compilations, greatest hits, etc. You can devote a whole other channel to The Stones and never run out of great music to react to. After The Beatles, the biggest selling artists in history. 🔥🔥

Wow fantastic reaction. The song is deep in the catalog, I would be surprised if most of their fans know this song! I love this song, seriously underrated IMHO. Mick is a superb harmonica player! The bass player is Darryl Jones, try to check a recent live version on Miss You to really experience his abilities. The ‘cool” guitar player is Keith Richards. When Mick is playing the harmonica with Keith, you can almost see the two 18 year olds playing in Mick’s living room. The performance is from 2016, their first time being allowed to play Cuba, (actually had to postpone the concert because of President Obama’s visit to Cuba.)The Stones are still fantastic in concert and hopefully will tour again. At the time of this concert Mick and Keith are 71!

In the 1940s, 50s 60s Chicago was the place for the blues and black music. White people in the US didnt’t hear blues or black music but the British did. In Chicago was Chess Recotds, Bronzeville was home I of the blues. The Rolling Stones went to Chicago to learn. The British bands learned American Blues then came to the US to play. US white people thought the British created it but no it came out the great migration of southern blacks to north specifically Chicago,

Other day at work, i tried throwing my "big number" to a customer, that i have seen the Stones lucky 13x. This cat giggled like "cute!" & tells me he has seen them 85 times. I may have fell to my knees and did that " I'M NOT WORTHY" move fom Wayne's World 😂 The Stones are amazing, but live is a whole top tier experience! I can't afford them anymore lol but the memories are a lifetime, and the best part was always all the generations that came together... grandparents, kids & THEIR kids, all RRRROCKIN together, truly amazing! So glad you enjoyed them, I'd follow any & all recommendations coming your way! I know lists are annoying, but Sympathy for the Devil live is a MUST & at shows, they usually break out giant women balloons for Honky Tonk Woman, you'd get a kick out of that!
