This was very thought provoking. Interesting points: 1) that she said that she loved them equally, but when her choice was dump the AP or get divorced and never see the OP, she chose the latter - so he was right when he said she wasn’t telling the truth. 2) that in addition to cuckolding him for all of those years, the AP and wife were making the decision about when to have babies. The idea that the father “could be either” does not seem consistent with the fact that AP and wife were making all of these plans without OP. 3) She cheated on AP with OP and then made AP raise OPs child without telling him. Like some kind of penance and retribution for OP. What a miserable existence.

At least he divorced her. He should have told all of the friends and her family what she did to him. If it was bad enough that he couldn’t live with it, it’s important enough to tell everybody so that he doesn’t lose his support system and get treated as an awful person. Might have helped cope with the depression.

Ok, not a bad story, but it is always about the second chick. Stop that. The story should be about the main plot. This is not the Simpsons where we need a “b” story to stretch out the 22 minutes. And usually it has something to do with the main story adjacent. This felt like 2 stories that were “Frankenstein’ed” together. The wife & the best friend is one story. The secret daughter, we all knew from foreshadowing. Then the “savior woman” shows up. Sometimes it’s the cheating spouse friend who knew the OP’s value as a man. 30% of the time it is a hard luck (smart) woman who has a fantastic body or doesn’t realize how hot she is. The second woman consistently showing up to save the man from emotional ruin is just false. Sometimes those that we loved, that hurt us, pass away. Conflicting emotions abound. Use that.
