I remember how cool it was when I first realized each part had a different singer in this version. It never gets old!

Thank you for documenting so much of the Traveler process and continuing to share it here on you channel. Over the past months, I've gained insight into a world I knew little about, and the project has truly blossomed as a gift to Journey fans and the world at large with each additional video. Thank you for this. Your work - and your passion for it - has made my life better in small but ineffable ways. 💛 --- There's something I've been meaning to convey, and I don't have a smooth segue, so I'm going to jump right in. :) I remember watching your announcement teaser for Traveler back in March and thinking, "oh, exciting! It'll probably have a bigger, fuller sound (or something)." The following week you shared the video I Was Born For This, and this motivated me to finally write to you, thanking you for working on the original Journey project, there in the comments section for the very new Traveler video. And you responded to my lengthy, effusive reminiscing simply but graciously. Over the past months, I've come to better appreciate (at least) three things: First, I've come to understand there is a fully developed world to composition and scoring that most of us are completely on the outside of. Your technical DAW sessions, the form of the As Noted series, the jargon throughout - many details go over my head, but as a whole, I love such glimpses into this world you so passionately share. Thanks for this; in some ways it fills me with childlike wonder, in others, simple appreciation. Second, it's become clear that Traveler was an immense professional undertaking, and that you're very proud of the outcome as a _new_ effort. Similarly, it's become clear that my initial comment, written the day the album was released, was very much in the past. When I've put my own creative efforts out into the world, particularly when the work leading up to that point had gone on for A Long Time, I know I've struggled with audience response and the possibility I won't be understood. In watching the videos you've shared since March, I see I initially didn't understand Traveler for what it was. I also sense that even if I stopped being a software developer today and dedicated the rest of my life to composition in earnest, I'd likely never understand every aspect of your craft with the depth and nuance you do. In a way, I worry that my ignorance and outsider-ness could prevent me from saying thanks in a way that is fully appropriate or, worse yet, could cause me to say something inappropriate. There are a lot of ways you could have responded to my KZbin comment, and as I've learned more about Traveler, I find it only more inspiring you responded as graciously as you did. So, third, your kindness has helped me reflect and consider fresh perspectives on how simple interpersonal interactions have the potential to shape the projects and energy we put out into the world. This is something I've come back to again and again since March. I think it's worth explicitly pointing out, because I think it's an attitude worth spreading. In short - thank you for sharing yourself with the world. It's a better place for it.

It's hard to know where to start in responding to this but above all, thank you so much for the many, MANY kind and generous things in here. You're definitely right about the aspiration of making something "new" and I'm mostly just happy that the looks behind the curtain are interesting / educational etc!! How that figures into your own decision to 'take the plunge' ... I just hope you feel empowered with as much as possible, but please know you'll NEVER feel "ready." You'll never feel you understand the craft. I feel this every day. I have friends that make me think "jesus and here I thought I knew what I was doing!" It's a constant. We're *all* works in progress, in every sense. Don't hide behind a lack of credential, experience etc to let you believe you're not ready. If you have something to say through your work, SAY IT!

Few pieces hit that emotional barrier as violently. Even without the game's own baggage, this song just... feels. Right or wrong, it just feels, it makes you feel. Truly one of the most powerful piece of this time. Short but just long enough to do what it is meant to, even past the original goal of its creation.

The original vocal was mesmerizing and an integral part of this song for me, but I respect the decision to do something different with this version, and I love how well everyone involved did.

I would definitely not say this version "improves" on Lisbeth's original; the goal was a lateral move to a different interpretation, leaning into different strengths of different vocalists. Because yeah, she absolutely nailed it

I love how this piece dances back and fourth between deeply-reflective and light-heartedly playful tones! It never fails to put a smile on my face, even after a long day. Thank you for sharing all this wonderful music with us over the past number of weeks, Austin. It’s been quite the…journey. :)

This game and it’s music have been integral in the development of who I am as a musician and, I believe, as a human in general. The original OST and recently Traveler have been listened to countless times, appeared at my piano recitals as a kid, and been a source of both relaxation and rumination throughout my adolescence and well into adulthood. The final track I Was Born For This was always my favourite as it embodied a cathartic feeling that arose from the emotions accumulated throughout the album / game. While I know this is not the last I will hear of this stunning album, this playback had me especially emotional. Thank you, Austin. Your music is forever a part of who I am and for that I am eternally grateful.

Yknow, I bought the album off band camp but never gave a full listen through, mostly just been too busy. It's good to see that my favorite composer is still loving his job and creating music (with the help of some other musicians that are also fantastic) that he adores, probably just as much as the fans of his work do. Always looking forward to what you're working on next, Austin.

This song is one of my favorite of all times. I remember when I heard it the first time at the end of Journey, it made me cry. I love the first version, but this, seriously I cried again, and again xD There is so much feeling in this one, it's incredible. It reminds me when I saw Hisaishi live, my heart was beating with the music! I want to see it live too, you should definitely do a tour!

thank you so much, Austin, Tina, all of the soloists, and everyone else who poured their heart into this album. perhaps the most beautiful thing i've listened to in a while, and the original score already left such a major impact on me when first making that climb in Journey-i could not have asked for a better composer to portray that moment of finally finding yourself and feeling so light (as 2:53 very very well illustrates)...! ❤
