Appreciate whoever wanted me on the m2 list at the 4th spot LOL, i know you were mostly jus tryin to get through the low tiers quick but I gotta say for overall influence i'd put Syrox over me for sure since he was really the first (as far as i know) to push the more technical side with stuff like tp teeter cancels and all that. As for active m2 players Zhyrri would also be a good mention, though it seems like he doesn't get to travel much so he's kinda stuck winning a lot of his locals but not being able to attend many majors

Crazy that just 2 years ago Cody wasn't even really considered for this list. Dude came up fairly slow then suddenly destroyed everyone became very disliked, and is now becoming liked while staying on top. I think thats more impressive than anything. Staying in the top 2 and not slowly becoming more hated by the community is something you dont see.

Idk Adam's Fox was there for 3,5 years and only really used for Hbox and sometimes Leffen who traded sets with him all the time. His Peach did 90% of bracket work just like Plup's Sheik. mang, every mid-/lowtier hero, m2k, PP, every Falcon, Plup, almost every Spacie, IC and Marth got taken care of by Peach.

Lowkey Nintendude was slept on for ICs. That guy getting upsets and being ranked top 20 at the game at some point got people so heated. He's without a doubt responsible for a lot of the infamy that surrounded the character pre-wobble ban. Kinda sucks too, feel like Nintendude was a pretty chill guy. I do think overall he was a pretty influential player for ICs though In terms of contributions to the character's meta though I think your list makes perfect sense tho tbh

Honestly think you might be overvaluing tourney results. Imo Mt. Rushmore is more about influence and creating foundations for character play styles. So players like Bombsoldier inventing pillar combos, vudujin inventing the vududash for luigi, Armada inventing the Armada shine for Fox, m2k with his marth chain grabs, etc. And then players creating iconic moments with characters like Armada counterpicking Young Link, Plup's luigi, Bizzaro Flame's salty suite set.

I am shocked Germ isn't there for Link. Used to top 8 at MLGs as a solo Link main. Was at one point around something like 2004 or 2005 considered in contention for being a top 10 player...as solo Link main. (Admittedly I don't know three of those other Links or what they've done. This may be a hot take but I think n0ne deserves the falcon spot over s2j. S2J has crazy longevity but when we are talking about mt rushmore, influence has to come to play and i think n0ne both achieved more in a shorter time frame than s2j and I think he elevated and pioneered falcons combo game/movements more than johnny. Im pretty sure theres a chef rach tweet that says n0ne did more for falcon than almost anyone in the modern meta or something along those lines. Lots of modern falcons took shit from n0nes playbook. So i think for those reasons he should've gotten that 4th spot from johnny (respectively cuz s2j is also sick)

I think the reason why I’d still put S2J over none is the longevity of how S2J plays the character, and not necessarily S2J’s career with the character (since we’ve covered that already). What I mean by that is that none was crazy innovative and good for a few years. He shocked the meta with things people had never seen and didn’t yet know how to beat. Unfortunately, people have figured out how to deal with none and he’s almost fallen off. In contrast: What S2J has brought to the meta has been consistently good the entire time he’s been playing. He released videos every once in a while about his game plan towards certain characters, too. None has definitely inspired a lot of players, and we can’t take that away from him. But at the same time, it’s similar to what cody was saying about westballz. If people keep trying to play like none in the long run, they’re going to plateau. Edit 1: Also if you don’t put S2J you’d have to argue that the reason he’s been good for over 10 years is because other players (different from the other 3 on the list) are better at labbing with falcon than he is. A claim like that would be ridiculous.) Edit 2: actually Bobby scar is probably a better counter to S2J than none. But damn not including S2J feels like a robbery 😂

Yeah, I get Cody’s point, but I think the overwhelming majority of current marth players would list PP as their biggest influence. He only played marth for two years, but those two years of marth featured the most transcendent movement I’ve ever seen from the character, even a little more than Zain (specifically movement).

Zero disrespect intended here because you are cracked as fuck but I probably wouldn't put you on this list for fox. Mango, Armada, Leffen and Silent Wolf are probably who I would choose mainly because of the huge stylistic differences between them. In your play specifically I see a lot of influence from all 4 of those players and I think in many respects you've taken all of those strategies further and incorporated them into a single style but I think the way you play is so technical that very few people can learn something from you that they wouldn't have learned by watching older vods of the players I mentioned.
