Because ppl say zen this and that but we don't see it tho so how can we actually knw if they are or not? I knw ppl cheat but I can't pin point who they are. I can rhythm shoot. I'm pretty good at it. I just don't like how there seems to be no real logic towards the tempo. There's nothing that really explains how fast i should flick it or how slow. It all feels random as hell.

Rhythm shooting is great and i use it for almost all my shots. Main issue is the reaction can be delayed and when you're using a PG with a fast jumper it can be really tough to overcome. With my Center I'm straight cash with an 83 3 ball. With my PGs with 90+ 3 ball im definitely more inconsistent with it because its way harder

Spot on 👍🏻 I only use square for all my shots except for step backs(I hold the right stick down then release/ not rhythm shooting) and I’m shooting 50 in the rec on a 6’2 pg.

One rhythm shooting tip is to push your right stick down really fast to start your shot and it will help the delay

Yep it’s confirmed 2k is trying to force me to shoot with the rhythm stick. I can’t change my stick to shoot only because I like to get jiggy with it but… I’ve been labbing it but the transition seems inevitable now.

Ehh I’ll begrudgingly try it. I can’t get used to it on my PG build but I’ll try it on my 2- guard. I just think it was a poor decision by 2K to implement rhythm shooting given the online latency that has been the same since ESPN NBA 2K4 online.

When I first started playing 2K I used right stick shooting. But then 2K started applying a lot of dribble and triple threat mechanics to the right stick so I eventually moved to square shooting.

Insightful video, i am currently shooting 54% from 3 using the square button, though in the past several 2ks i have shot over 65% from 3. Its extremely frustrating knowing that I am timing my shot to a T and not getting rewarded for it. I will be trying out the rhythm shooting mechanic and will see if it works for me. Great video

U made me reconsider using rhythm shooting and your 100% correct on timing stability I got an A rating jump shot and let’s just say I’m more consistent with the button but I need to incorporate rhythm shooting for standstill shots and use button for moving or shooting off the dribble

As I’m watching this video I’m in the middle of a mycareer game testing out the rhythm shooting and using your tips without the meter and I will say thank you for this insight as someone who said they weren’t going to use this but I do have a tip if you are a catch and shooter just make sure you pull down on the stick after the catch animation

You have to actually push it upward from the neutral zone after you pulled it down to start the shot

I was using cam Thomas fast ass jumpshot. Switched to pure Steve Nash and the cue is just like what you said. Feet and hands visual cue for green. I’ve been the jolly green giant since. Also it has a high release height so I’m shooting right over the 6’1-6’3 guards

They make damn dear impossible to shoot with square and then you have to play with 2k's damn 3 sec delay on top of the delay of your own personal WiFi delay . They should be no reason as to why I have deal with 2k's 3 delay to negate Zen users but I'm seeing other green back to back to back it's like 2k's pre decide who's green window they go move and who they not before the game even start it's complete bs there no reason as to why it this far into 2k25 and still haven't got timing down makes no sense

In 2k24 there was a delay sometimes but in 2k25 it's like the delay is way worse it slow until it get to the visual cue whether it's on push or release then it speeds up make it make sense

I like the idea of lowering players' make percentages to be more realistic. To me, 2K is supposed to lean more towards sim than arcade, and players averaging 80% on 3pt attempts is crazy. But on the other hand it feels shitty to miss so many threes, even if it's more in line with how actual NBA players shoot.
