Love your review! I totally agree with you that Ellie came off as far beyond her years and had thought it felt like Jacqueline Wilson remembering life when she was 40 Vs 40 now.

Thank you for this review. I was also a fan of the Girls series and was intrigued by this, but feel less inclined to read it if Magda and Nadine don’t feature as much as they did in the original books.

I grew up in the 00s in Poland and the "Girls..." books were around there too! I remember having to sign up for the waitlist in the school library for each of them cause they were always on loan. I recall watching the TV show adaptation, as well! Similarly to you, I found this book incredibly disappointing - I really don't understand why this needed to be a spinoff of the series, it hardly had anything to do with older books and unfortunately, I don't think Jacqueline gets millennials the way she used to... the iPhone scene made me cringe.

Ooh this is so interesting! I do remember there being an adaptation but I can't remember if I watched it at the time!
