I really love watching the best books of the years lists and getting all the recommendations as well! And all The goals and the different ways people approach it too. Love this style of video and thank you for including me ❤

You gotta remember the film from 2001 and the series from 2019 but overall good vid. My fave is prob the live recording from 2010 with Michael Ball as Javert

Fair enough, yeah the opening was the best part. Maybe longer or shorter n terms of word count. Like short story might have worked or something longer. Maybe, some kind getting the group together at the end. But then I’m thinking everything just kind of change. Can you imagine being the editor or the agent for this manuscript? I mean there’s so much goodness in the story elements and it structurally makes sense pretty much. I like the idea of it taking placein less than 24 hours. A very very worthy effort.

you have pretty good picks and i overall mostly agree, but is there any reason why you didn’t include the original 1987 broadway cast recording?

Love the idea of a booktube spotlight video!! … I still cannot wait for the Shakespeare video - if your worried about it being too long you could always split it into two parts 🥰

I personally listen to the All Stars’ Cast, except from any of the Javert solo songs, where I swap it out for Norm Lewis (I don’t really like Michael Ball’s voice - sorry!!!!)
@Kaney_Playz11 күн бұрын
I love Michael Ball and it’s cool that he’s Javert in the 2020 live recording but Gareth Gates empty chairs at empty tables for the 25th has the best emotion out of all Marius’

I couldn't agree more! I thought I was a black sheep for liking the 25th slightly more than the 10th. I have both on DVD and watch them often, but other than Nick Jonas and Alfie (I like him, but it took 2-3 listens to get used to his voice), I think every performance is breathtaking!

Alphie Boe did not get any flowers from you? He was literally my favorite Valjean from a vocal perspective; casting an operatically trained tenor that can pull this off is amazing. I wish you had given him time and didn't talk about Nick Jonas. I get hating on people is funnier, but leaving out a shout to Alfie is just not cool. :)

You are right, libraries are great - as a librarian, I have to agree ! And your mother is right too 😁 We all have goals at the beginning of the year, mine are to go through the series I'm reading to keep them up to date AND mostly to read my physical TBR. We all know how goals go but hey, we'll try and if it works, great, if it doesn't, it will just be postponing 😉

Even though I'm a booktuber, I do Saturday morning sprints but I study (I'm doing my degree with the OU) so I call them productivity sprints and run them when I'll be shackled to my desk too. Love your goals! And doing a video just because your mum asked for it ❤
@veroreads24 күн бұрын
I really like reading sprints! If you'd like to do them more often you could do them a bit shorter, like 90 minutes instead of three hours. I think they would still be effective but more doable! Good look with all your goals!
@Faye_L25 күн бұрын
Your mum is right, I always enjoyed your monthly vlogs, too! I attend some reading sprints, and it's always the un-themed ones I go to. Just a "Come hang out and read whatever you're reading with a cool group of people" type of thing.

What about the original broadway cast recording with Colm Wilkinson, Terrence Mann, Randy Graff, Frances Ruffelle, Judy Kuhn, Michael Maguire, Leo Burmester and David Bryant? That one i think has some pretty good songs
