Am a Nigerian that resides in diaspora. African parents should learn to be supportive to their adult children and not to discourage them. On the other hand you have the right to marry whom ever you choose to marry. Your family members can not tell you who to fall in love with. Keep on keeping on. It is painful to have abusive families. The cutting her off after marriage for marrying a person of another race is not because of cultural differences but because she survived it all, including the evil foundations and the expectation from family was for her to become nothing due to the foundation of coming from unmarried parents. Why would a family call a woman a prostitute if she got married? The truth is her story is proof that God is bigger than any religion. Another issue is if the Muslim way is the perfect way of life, why did the father not marry her mother. I suspect the mother also went through abusive. Thank God for the Mighty God we serve who made it possible for her to survive all evil powers including curses. I am happy she ultimately made peace with her mother. She married a good husband too. The horrible things African women have to endure. Fauza is truly a phenomenal lady.
