I was forced to escape to the NEW WORLD as NOVGOROD

That's right, I've caved to popular opinion and played as colonial novgorod without forming Russia. Why was I forced to do this? I genuinely have no idea, but today, we play as EU4 Novgorod and don't form EU4 Muscovy - instead looking to exodus to the new world in search of greener pastures. Who knows, maybe we'll be able to use the siberian frontier exploit?

19:47 ??? Sorokoa is not connected to Olonets, if that's what you're thinking? You don't have zone of control from Russia to Kola. White Karelia + Neva would block them Soroka + Priozersk would block them. Novgorod is a useless place to have a fort. Edit: Actually it's quite good in terms of the sheer amount of regions it connects to, however it does mess up the potential fort layout a bit, tactically Narva + Neva is great, then Olonets and Onega, or Tikhvin and Kargopol, if you want to draw them further in and make their retreat longer if you win a sally/relief. Neva + Tikhvin for instance, would grant you a massive tactical advantage against armies coming from the north(west). If they split up, they'll have to march for literally months around to help out any army you sally/battle against, while your troops only have to spend a few days. Usually I focus on terrain modifiers and trade goods (salt) when choosing where to build. When I have the money I like to cover everything (that wouldn't make a relief suffer more attrition than the enemy on its way to your forts) with forts. Also gives some nice army trad. Money should not be an issue after manufactories.
