Well regarding Charlotte, her 'betrayal' is a different kind to what we got so far. She didn't cheat physically but she betrayed him emotionally, not out of lust or money, but suprising a mix of love+pride where not only did she want to prove herself to Edward as an equal but also could not stomach that her friend with whom she started the company was so much better than her. This story could have take a different turn if she didn't chose her useless ex-bf but instead a competent person(female or male)

Yeah I’m always confused when in these stories a couple starts a business together but only one of them own it. If both are putting in equal work why wouldn’t both own it? If you not given shares of the company than don’t go above and beyond a normal employee job. And don’t do business without protecting yourself

Among others, narcissistic traits are: one can't undestand feelings of other people, can't see the consequences of own actions, thinks one is never wrong in whatever they do, they hate if others are better then them because they think, they deserve to be the best. This spawns jelousy, manipulation, wish to control and manipulate. It's quite obvious that she was a narcissist. So, from the view of narcissistic personality disorder, her actions are completly logical.

So basically, All gone awry due to Charlotte's inferiority complex towards Edward. i felt when she felt helpless when Edward got sent yo hospital that day, it's all because she just awestruck by Edward's decisive actions to secure the company's future. she felt alarmed by Edward. felt helpless, and jealous. ultimately grown inferiority complex toward Edward. she then kept Edward in the same position in company for many years. but when Edward held unshakable position inside the company, Charlotte completely disregard Edward as her partner and founder. and blatantly brought in an outsider, a normal worker, put him in the higher position, to pressure Edward, and at the same time degrading Edward's job. to lessen Edward's presence. but truly that's so foolish, as Charlotte forgot how all the workers in the company respected Edwards more than her. that very day, Charlotte already put a time bomb to her own company. the rest is just as expected. wrong decision truly can change everythings. It's save to say that Charlotte turned concrete castle into sand, all because of her feeling and emotions (worry, anxiety, & inferiority) if she claimed there's love involved, it's just 1% of it.

When he is at the restaurant, and he remembers about how they were in the beginning, there is a mention of her wanting more than a work relationship when they succeeded. I think that there was an inferiority complex, or at least the fear of Edward replacing her, but that it wasn't 99% of the reason. More like

All these stories end the same way even if the FL doesn’t fully deserve it the ML cuts them off completely. Charlottes pride and inferiority complex caused her downfall she’s not innocent but not even going to see her after her accident after you’ve already gotten closure is beyond cold blooded.

its similar to government.. president then secretary of defense. in the sense secretary here is similar to minister. only president can overwrite the secretary 's command. even the vice president does not have a direct control to the secretary unless designated by president. in this sense, the secretaries are high position but low in terms of wage.

Brings someone without experience or bad experience to the important position to her company and loses everything. She could just marry the MC and give the position he deserved and be happy. I know it sounds cool to get super vindicated and come out as a boss.. but literary speaking, this story would have been better if instead of touring the world, he went to see charlotte. I know they wanted to give her a last smack in the face by rejecting the fact that she wanted to show him that she was worthy of him, and that she liked him. But she did show it, both when he was sick and when she didn't have anything anymore. It would have been cool of him to just let bygones be bygones and go see her at the hospital, like she had before. Sounds like a better story to me.

Probably not because they started the business together. Normally, a startup doesn't have leverage on this kind of thing because they can't compete with the big company's salary and many talents (out of college) use startup as a steppingstone before joining big companies. The MC stated that he had many offers before from big companies but refused them all out of his loyalty towards Charlotte and the company.
