I wouldn't freeze two scorpions either; as scorpions don't gain anything on level up, there's no point in levelling them up for any reason (Besides maybe the achievement, I guess?). It's better to feed a scorpion to make sure it doesn't get sniped, and to allow it to break through melon armour once it gets past 20 attack. I think NL undervalues the shark when he's just adding a random unit. He took a cricket over it. A random shark at the back in the mid-late game can still build some decent stats and be pretty clutch even without summon strats.

Numbers for if NL reads this: at the back of a 5 squad with no summons, a level 1 shark gets +8/+4 on top of its base stats. That's a 12/8 fresh out of the shop without cans.

“It’s not the horses doing” Actually for once it finally was, but not because of the in battle buffs. He bought the horse first and so his other units got +1/1 when he bought them. That buff goes away next turn, so basically the horse won him round 1 and then becomes useless.

If you get a horse round one, You buy a horse early, buy other animals, sell horse next turn, and enjoy free round so you need one less win in later transition. Mid-game transition is much more valuable than early shop buff with ducks, since they give bigger bang for your buck.

If you combine a level 1 with no xp with another unit, it will be +1/1 the higher unit's stats Dude just trust me ok When combining units, the game treats pets with xp weirdly

@@sainttrish7544 So what OP is saying is that if you add the lvl1 fish to lvl 2 fish, it goes 4/6 to 5/7 When you add the level 2 fish to the level 1 fish, the game treats it like you added 3 lvl 1 fishes (this is like when you combine two lvl 2 units). So the lvl 1 4/5 gets +1/+1 3x or just +3/+3, going to 7/8. Thus the order is kinda weird.

As someone who played ducks "before they were good', my best advice for duck meta is that in a situation like that where you've got the ox on turn 3 plus a crab in your shop, don't chase that last shop slot. Just sell the ducks (source: dude, just trust me). You've got it about as good as you're gonna get it, spending gold on rolls trying to get a better unit in the remaining spot is a fool's gambit. I get that you want the maximum value out of your ducks in return for the investment in lives, but especially when you've got a mid-game superstar like ox or kangaroo, just the one is value enough, much less with a crab there too.

My man is tunnel visioning on the ox. Ox/badger isn't that good cus the badger scales too fast. What you need is a scaler (monkey/penguin/giraffe) behind it or any unit that does it's effect at the start of turn like crocodile or skunk. Works great, especially when you get a tiger as well

Man this was so good. His desperate struggle for a completely pointless ox that somewhow seemed like the only unit worth buying, instead of buying other good enough units. AND THEN it somehow worked for a round or two by whatever miracle. Amazing. (btw, this isn't me saying ox is bad, as seen in the last game, it is strong when you get it early, but when he searched for it for like 4 rounds, that' s too much man, especially since at this point you're just buying a 1-4 while you roll past tier 5 units). Also, that title is the best irony, he litteraly kept getting lost in trying to get the LITTERAL BEST VALUE out of his single/ double ducks (which isn't how youdo it, roll once or twice for good units to buff, sure, but they don't have to be the litteral best units of T2 to make ducks work). To the point of keeping ducks and getting punished for it by them eating buffs. Though it did make for a great last round where he ends up buffing the ducks to the end. You know, honestly a great time, glad he figured out the meta, which made him desire to break said meta, leading to madness. Can't wait for the full scorpion squad.

NL, just put a trash unit like a Giraffe or Poodle or Monkey behind the badger and put him up front. Badger has great starting stats, at level 2 with investment it can kill units through melon armor. If it kills one of your units who wasn't going to get any kills anyway (or who you're fine with dying, like a rooster or deer) then you win those

Duck has to be the most rapidly ascended in tier list pet in the game. From "The worst animal in the game" to the juice and the squeeze of the early game in a span of a single patch. Roll 3-4 ducks early, maybe get a lucky draw, turn 3 cheeky level up, sell your ducks army to get 3-4 levels worth of stats on your shop, endorphine rushing through your veins, enjoy a comfortable stroll to 10 wins.
