Lowkey my fave Peggy. It's so cohesive, the transitions are gorgeous. So many unique ideas going on. So fuckin good man
@archocystosyrinxАй бұрын
it's cohesive? lol.. but nah I get what you mean
@stwish3910Ай бұрын
@@archocystosyrinxAbsolutely, this album flows together really well. Stuff like Veteran, Black Ben Carson, and The 2nd amendment feel much more sporadic and chaotic. Only projects that I think flow better are EP2! and Communist Slow Jams.

My favorite Peggy album and it took me multiple listen to truly like damn near every track. Slowly he kept growing on me. I didn’t even like most of it first listen but the creativity and curiosity kept bringing me back to challenge myself with his music. And it paid off immensely. EDIT: for Song about sorrel is took me a minute to like that track but sonically he intended to make a track solely with digital sounds and nothing live. Grimy Waifu is a reference to his gun during his time in the military. The Thot tactic hook is him mocking people trying to trick or troll him.

There’s so much lore 😅😅 I honestly don’t think thats a problem, a lot of my favourite albums it took multiple listens tbh

Aye bruh that Sorrel transition to thot tactics is hard at least, I know a lot of people don’t like that song but I’ve warmed up to it because I love how cohesive the album is.
@ShayGoonАй бұрын
I disagree about cohesive off a first listen… to me dope ass transitions doesn’t equal cohesion but still just a first listen
@clockwork4406Ай бұрын
@@ShayGoon That’s fair, it took a couple listens for me to fully appreciate this album. I feel as though a lot of the songs have a similar vibe without it actually all sounding the same. Like thot tactics and Jesus forgive me I’m a thot, and free the frail are 3 completely different songs, but they still feel like they are apart of a cohesion because they still have similar elements. (Like Peggy is singing a lot more in this album, the instrumentals feel a lot softer and melodic, but it can also feel abrasive at times)

Context for JPEGMAFIA TYPE BEAT, lots of people compared Peggy to a group called Death Grips and he hates that, so he made that song to sound like a Death Grips song to troll ppl (and I'm sure ppl have already asked you, but you might wanna react to Death Grips 'The Money Store' eventually, kinda set the alternative hip-hop thing off in a new direction)

Seeing someone being confused about this album is always so fun since I listen this project so much, it is all over the place but sounds so smooth to me lol, best Peggy album to me, 10/10. I notice that a lot of my personal favs from him are his most popular songs like Free The Frail (which is my favorite song from him), Hazard Duty Pay, EOROTD, Burfict and 1539 N. Calvert (which is on Veteran 😉) so I always wanted him to "sell out" and make a whole album full of those catchy songs

that's how i feel too lol, I've listened to this so much every second of it feels perfectly placed. every stutter, dropout, adlib. i can see how it can be overstimulating for a new listener though lmfao definitely my favorite peggy album, we have never heard and will never hear anything like this again. his newer music is great but is definitely intended to be more palatable for the mainstream audience but this was just jpegmafia as his most unhinged producer self
