It’s always struck me a s strange how often songs will fade out whilst actually picking up pace instrumentally. Like what is it meant to convey? someone here said it’s corny but it’s not just corny it’s also desperate. i’m a sex worker. so this song really like hit me in a place i didn’t expect it to. never really listened to black midi the song was just recommended to me on my youtube feed. there is a specific kind of client that has so much pain and longing inside him, but instead of facing that pain and interrogating its origin, it’s so much that the client needs allllllll these little specific little things to happen and part of it is control but really it’s about a fantasy world he has constructed and hides inside where he is finally worthy of love. i think greep (is that his name i hope?) really effectively used music to describe this frantic world. especially at the end when the pain starts to really become apparent in its heartbreaking beauty.
