I went to see One Ok Rock on the Luxury Disease NA tour and I'm not gonna lie, I was not having a good day. I drove 4 hours to Cleveland and admittedly was too tired to sleep properly beforehand, so I was running on maybe 2 hours of sleep and a monster. Then I stood in line for several hours. By the time the opening acts started I had been awake for over 12 hours. I was exhausted. They were good acts but by the time the second openers played their set I couldn't even move to jump around. I was honestly scared I wouldn't even enjoy the show. Then the lights go down for the final time that night. The introduction starts playing, the band walks out, and it's like I was never tired in the first place. The crowd goes *ballistic*. They're singing along so loud it rocks the venue and I am too. Suddenly exhaustion is a foreign concept, something so far away from this moment, right now, even though I was about to die on my feet not 5 minutes earlier. It was the best concert I've ever been to. There is something out of this world about this band and I'm so happy to see more and more people like you find them too. Thank you so much for your reaction!! I recommend "Cry Out" from Ambitions Japan Dome Tour and "Mighty Long Fall" at Yokohama.... arena or stadium? I think they've done both? I like the one with the fire, personally, but it's OOR, so you can't go wrong either way lol. Thank you again for your reaction!

I saw them too in October. I'm 52 and a metal/good music girl. I have been to a lot of concerts as a matter of fact, two weeks prior saw mcr and I thought I had seen my dream concert but no. I was wrong OOR will for ever be my favorite band and concert of at least 4 decades. 😆 I'm glad to hear that I'm not overreacting to how I feel about this band. They are definitely something special ❤

@@marisaheymann3759 you're definitely not the only one who feels that way, not at all! I'll admit I haven't been to as many concerts as I would like, being 24 and broke lol, but what I can tell you is this: I have never in my life been so instantaneously wired. Never, not once, has anyone's mere presence just flat out changed the entire state of my existence. Fatigue clings to me like a needy toddler and while I've moved past it many times over... when Taka, Toru, Tomoya, and Ryota walked out it was like my body had never known pain or exhaustion in my life. I existed almost outside of the physical world. I still don't have words to describe it. All that is to say, those guys... what they do is magic. It makes me so happy that so many other people with all kinds of different experiences can feel that with me too! Thank you for your story and for loving OOR!!

You were just pouting before for a little struggle, of course all your "magical" problems went out of the window when your idol started to sing, it was no a big deal in the first place. So some background on that "moment of silence", it was in dedication to the late Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. Chester was Taka's hero, One Ok Rock took a great deal of inspiration from Linkin Park, and after Chester's passing, they paid tribute to him, and covered One More Light during numerous shows. Taka also participated at Chester's tribute concert and later got to to feature in a live performance with Mike Shinoda. (Many fans have cited this as being the reason for the elongated moment of silence, what's chilling is how well it worked, it was like the perfect song to do it with, as the lyrics just hit so much harder. It's honestly one of the most unique ways I've seen a band incorporate something like this and the most sincere.)

it's also because Taka was being sick right before this performance, so the concert was delayed for awhile, yet he still force himself to come out on the stage like that. so he take break for a moment and keep quite before finally breaking the silence with that soaring note.

I really appreciate your reaction. In fact Taka was ill and had a very bad memory from this concert. The next day he apologized on Instagram for the bad performance he had. So, I can't imagine how the song would have sound of he was at his top. He's not from this world, the whole band isn't. Thank you so much!

I think a lot of the reactions to this song talk about Japanese audiences. I think that Japan has a culture of listening since ancient times. It's fun to go live together outside of Japan, but I think the only place where you can enjoy listening to the detailed sounds of instruments and TAKA's voice is in Japan.

Hearing ONE OK ROCK live is completely different experience from the CD itself. Honestly this is one of the few bands I listen to that going live, doesn’t matter how many times you go in one tour, it’s always a new experience and is something that sticks with you. I’m not saying this because they’re my favorite band but they have something unique and very loving and welcoming to their fans. Is just a full experience with them. I highly recommend going to see them live. I remember when he sang this that tour they were supposed to tour with Linkin Park and unfortunately we lost Chester, the emotional experience throughout this entire song was so different and then when Taka sang One More Light, if I remember the title correctly, it hit like a thousand rocks on your body. I just remember crying the entire time he sang both songs. Taka is an amazing vocalist, not to mention Toru, Ryota and Tomoya as well. The band is just flat out amazing.

I love your reactions. By all means, more ONE OK ROCK reactions! We want to hear and see it! More pop music. More acoustic songs. More marvelous noisy rock. Your response and timing in the cool part of your song is donpical to my thoughts. Basically, we play rock, but we play it with strings in the background, or just acoustic instruments. The excellence of their playing technique becomes more apparent. I know the conversation has gone to talking about them, but I love your reactions too. I think reactions are all about timing and facial expressions. Comments are great, but I really like to see how you felt about the performance. Now I'm waiting them to announce their Asia Tour 😊 One Ok Rock will start their Japan tour this Saturday, and I'm so excited even I can't go there lol It will always been my dream to witness all of them to perform live with my own eyes ❤ I hope the day will come soon. You should react to either the beginning, clock strikes, or mighty long fall. They are different than the songs you have listened to and some of them are a bit older. They started out as a rock band but during the last couple of years they have dived into some different genres but they still do rock and have said that they would like to go back to more rock than pop.

It is customery in Japan at concerts to be totally silent during a sentimental song, whether a tribute or sad type song. They will not clap when it's over either. They consider this action as a show of high respect.

I recommend Mighty long fall if you want to hear more of a wild rock sound (with some screaming included), Smiling down which also has great rock vibes but is very emotional at the same time, Wasted nights, if you want to hear something more happy-go-lucky and Et cetera which is from their very first album and you can only find a very old live orchestra version, but Taka's voice is so raw and emotional, it's totally worth a listen (it's also an all japanese song so it's better with lyrics) (Ofc i recommend the live versions for all songs)

Thank you for reacting to OOR! I believe the story behind the "broken home" is actually referring to Taka's relationship with his parents (although it could also be about a break up) - they're relationship seems to be okay now but was rocky for a very long time. Nobody's Home is another one that hints at his personal struggles. Like you were saying about vulnerability, I really appreciate when artists can get so personal/vulnerable and express their struggles
