Next time you're looking to use nibbles, try the Power Bait Crappie nibbles in Chroma Glow White or Chartreuse. My personal tip that truly works and saves nibbles....remove from jar before using and spread out on flat surface and allow to slightly harden....about a day if sitting inside the house. Should be fairly stiff from touch but you can corkscrew onto hook point and will usually catch 2 or 3 fish off a single nibble.

When I lived on a lake the crappie would make a circle that took them 32 minutes to make the journey after the spawn. We figure they chased shad and balls of minnows. But as soon as you could see minnows or shad was time to cast. But nothing beat catching them coming off the beds swear could catch them on a gold hook. Limited out in ten minutes then my grandpa went out right after and had his limit in about the same time frame, was still cleaning fish when he was back going "man that was fun, clean mine while your at it".

I may have to add a split grip ACC to my lineup. I’ve got a 6’ and 8’ full cork. Also, it wouldn’t matter in higher current like that, but in slack water when/if they are being picky, I’ve found that cutting one leg off of the trout or crappie magnets will get more bites. Slims down the profile and gives it more action.
@COLE_and_JAY Жыл бұрын
The 6’6” 1 piece is pretty legit! One day I was fishing a super pressured spot and cut both legs off and they started nuking it haha

I've noticed that fish hit lures and baits a little more with the dough bait hooked on. I use the Berkley Crappie Nibbles and they seem to hit more with them on instead of just a live worm or lure. It's probably the scent that gets released that draws them in, the lure/bait presentation that attracts them, and then the taste that makes them bite down and hold it. Saw an experiment with bass that scent seems to do more for honing in, I'm guess crappie and bluegill aren't too different.
