The opening of Apocalypse was so good and was surprisingly violent. And yes, composer John Ottman did it again with the music. So good. He's one of the reasons why the X-Men theme is so memorable. Also mind you, this is the first time Magneto ever uses his magnetic force field in the films. He was best known to often use such a power in most other media. Was always kind of weird that we never seen that happen until this movie.

Apocalypse is one of the names for who was considered for a long time 'the first mutant', En Sabah Nur was raised on the ideology of Survival of the Fittest and was manipulated on a villain path by Kang the Conqueror (completing a time loop since Kang knew what Apocalypse would become). Clad in Celestial Armor, Apocalypse had many powers thanks to the armor beyond that of a regular mutant, and encountered many Marvel characters in history; the Eternals, Thor, and Vlad the Impaler before he became Dracula, one of his deeds in the past includes creating Mister Sinister (Nathaniel Essex, who the post-credits scene is about but amounts to absolutely nothing). In some ways he is like X-Men's Thanos threat if he didn't have the gauntlet. Often as the villain, Apocalypse would corrupt and empower four others to be his Four Horsemen, as he does in this film with Angel (becoming Archangel/Angel of Death with the metal wings, similar to how he does in the comics), Storm, Psylocke and Magneto. The movie is decent enough, but like Ultron and Dark Phoenix, comic fans were expecting more iconic moments from it, given how popular the 'Age of Apocalypse' storyline was. That is the actual Logan though, the whole headset and wires is more comic accurate and in DOFP we don't know what Raven did to him after fishing him out the water as Stryker. Here it's implied Weapon X (which is a program, Logan was the original Weapon X, Deadpool was also a part of Weapon X) got to him and have recently added the Adamantium in. Film has some funny outtakes too

Here in the movies, Apocalypse's power basically consists of transferring himself to the body of others. So he can take over the body of any mutant and use their powers as his own; every time he transfers to the body of a new mutant the powers he had in the old body also transfer to the new one, which basically makes him a library of superpowers In the comics, his powers are VERY diferent, to sum up he has the ability to alter any aspect of his body at cellular level, including his X gene, which basically gives him the unique ability to CREATE NEW POWERS. He can alter the genetics of the brain itself to become telepathic and telekinetic, can create wings or fly by himself, manipulate any kind of energy that hit his body, grow to the size of a skyscraper, pass through walls, manipulate matter, project consciousness out of the body, become so strong that even the Hulk has difficulty in overcome him and so tough that Cyclops' most powerful optic blast (which according to him could snap a moon in half) barely scratches his body. Basically he can have any power he wants as long as he can manipulate his body in a certain way to get that power Also, Quicksilver can't stop time, he is just so absurdly fast that, into his perspective, it's like everything and everyone is frozen

I actually liked this X-men film as well. The one scene I’ll never forget is when Magneto’s wife and daughter were killed right in front of him and when he let loose on those men. That was such a heart wrenching scene, it left a hole in my chest.

39:07 "What is his name??" En Sabeh Nur, sometimes translated as The Morning Light, other times as The Seven Lights. The former makes more sense to me, as he was one of the first mutants ever born on Earth-616 (Multiverse stuff), the Earth we're familiar with in the MCU. One of the "unlucky" mutants to have part of their mutation apparent at birth, namely his grey skin with blue lines. Cast out to die as a demon, he was found and raised by the leader of another tribe, but because everyone feared him and the harsh world he was born into, he adopted the philosophy that the strong deserve to rule, while the weak serve. Mutants, gifted with powers Humans don't have, obviously were labeled the Strong. And this has been your Marvel Comics Universe History Minute! Edit: That IS indeed the Logan that we know. He was captured by Stryker, and turned into Weapon-X. Stryker gave him his adamantium skeleton, if you recall. Though, thinking about it, you DO have a point. Mystique rescued Logan, not Stryker. So Stryker possibly captured him at a later date, possibly the same time he captured Logan before Days of Future Past (since Logan changed the events. He never originally got impaled with rebar and thrown into a lake, so.....) EditEdit: The only quibble I had with this film was Apocalypse himself. I grew up on the X-Men cartoons, and the voice and intonations the had there was amazing. Plus, when being asked by a human "Are you a mutant? Like them?", Apocalypse responds "Mutant? I am as far beyond them as they are beyond you." It really gave him a sinister feeling, IMO. Plus, in the pictures released before the film, I felt he looked too purple. Reminded me of Ivan Ooze.

Fun fact the actor for Apocalypse plays Moon Knight! I prefer him as MK as the character really allows him to show his acting skills and as Apocalypse, like Thanos, was supposed to be more than what we see here. That is one of several reasons why comic book fans are upset with this movies. However you cant deny that speech where he has nukes being fired, the score, his speech, and the energy was goosebumps all over level of greatness. Oh and did you notice how Magneto’s outfit is similar to Wanda’s at the end of WandaVision? Like father like daughter. Magneto’s scene when he comes in with the metal x is so epic. Now, one reason comic book fans dislike this movie is once again Mystique is given a more anti-hero becoming hero like story. In the comics, animated movies and tv shows she is a villain. Her and Magneto. Yes their stories are tragic and it makes sense why they became villains, but they dont recover from their trauma. There are characters who have had villain like beginnings, Rogue for example, but they become heroes. Magneto and Mystique there are moments that seem heroic but they are at heart villains. A person can understand why they do what they do, hard not to, their acts however are inexcusable. Yes, that is Logan. Now, as to how he got from being taken out of the river by Mystique disguised as Stryker to real Stryker we dont know. However if you watch X-Men Evolution, X-Men 90s, Wolverine and the X-Men the helmet and outfit Logan has in this one is more true to how his admantium experiment really happened. Which most likely means the characters Kayla SIlverfox, Agent Zero, Fred Dukes, and the other crew members of the group Weapon X could still be alive. Heck even Gambit may be around, which fingers crossed we may get some Rogue and Gambit love story in the MCU. The ending credit scene, ESSEX, was really an opportunity, in my opinion, to introduce Mr. Sinister. Like they could’ve had the person with the suitcase come up to the computer room and you see this tall guy with a cape watching a video of Jean and Scott. Don’t even need him to speak or turn around, just him rewinding the video noticing the two mutants powers. Ugh, there could’ve been an origin for one of the X-Men’s villains, but no not gonna happen. If you ever want more mutants I deeply, highly recommend watching the animated shows. My favorites are the Evolution and Wolverine, but all are great.

But in the theatrical version they gave Stryker Mystique eyes I guess for flare but real Stryker being alive how did Mystique get out of there is my question.

Note: while Cyclops and Havok are indeed brothers, they switched the roles. In most media and comics, Cyclops is the elder brother while Havok is the younger brother. In the films, its switched the other way with Cyclops being the younger brother instead.

The thing about Logan is that because of the events of days of future past, Stryker was able to obtain Logan much earlier as we see him with the adamantium claws now. Ecensially this new past they made in days of future past after stopping the sentinels, is that Stryker managed to wipe Logan’s memories after he got the metal in his body unlike in Origins where he escaped

It's the Logan from the new X-men timeline that was created at the end of 'The Days of Future Past' when they reset the future. The Logan that was sent back in time, went back to his original time (of the new timeline) at the end of the movie and what was left behind was the Logan that belonged to that time. That's him. *Phew....*

My favorite part of this one is magnetos arc, Michael did an AMAZING job portraying the pain and agony that Erik was going through and this is the closest magneto gets to his whole potential which is represented when he is able to literally alter earth’s magnetic field, it’s just unbelievable

The guy who plays Apocalypse is Oscar Isaac, he played Moon Knight from the series of the same name. I couldn't recognize him with all of that make-up, which is really impressive. Personally I didn't find this movie bad nor good, but there are some scene's that I absolutely love. So for me it's a good go to movie if I have nothing else to do and want to watch a long movie to make the time go by faster.

Underrated because it's in the same trilogy as First Class and DOFP, unable to compete with them due to having a more straightforward 'X-Men, go stop the bad mutant who is doing the bad things!' type of plot. A superheavy like Apocalypse/En Sabah Nur can't help but make his film that way. Really liked the new Cyclops and Jean, and getting to see a new side of Quicksilver.

Days of Future Past changed everything, so with that film they could say Logan changed history when he went back in time, and the experiments done to him happened a different way. It was their way of getting rid of Xmen Origins lol. So yeah that was our Wolverine.
