My kid was so badly bullied in the GEP class eons ago because he was small sized and the teacher gave him an unfortunate nickname which she thought was cute but earned him ridicule. I had urged my son to choose Rosyth initially but he opted for ACS due to proximity and also because my dad studied there as a kid (but not the atas side of the school). My dad was so disgusted by some of the behaviour he saw in the boys there and told me his time not like that. We took him out of GEP and ACS and placed him back in mainstream in his Alma mater where he had been a happy student. It’s been so long but the unpleasant memories linger. Don’t just look at the school name and purported brand. The staff, the culture matters too. I feel the neighborhood schools are sometimes overlooked because of warped perceptions. Actually the teachers, leaders and culture in those schools are sometimes even more warm and caring.

To me this Tengah move is by the PAP government to force assimilation of non Peranankans and non colonials into PAP and colonials bloodstream, then they will gentrifu the area. Those who get into ACS Tengah are the Christians and people who buy their way in, the rest of the people can't get in!!
