I wonder if this is where King and Straub met. The Talisman is my favorite book and their collaboration on that book and The Black House are both amazing. RIP Peter Straub.

Hello Andy! The Talisman is also MY favorite King book as my well. I loved Jack Sawyer and his journey. Good guess but this is not where King and Straub first met. They actually met in England in 1981 and decided to collaborate on a book. Four years later we got The Talisman. Great book!! I wasn't a big fan of Black House. It didn't have the quest format that The Talisman did. There was rumors that they would collaborate on a third and final book about Jack Sawyer but unfortunately I doubt that will happen now that Peter has passed. RIP. Not sure if you've read his new book Fairy Tale but it's sorta like The Talisman. Check it out!

As much as horror movies gave me some nightmares as a kid, the reality of Family Violence really gave me nightmares for many years which was and is so sad for child to go through these situations where they are powerless as well as the victim of the violence, most likely shapes your emotions and viewpoints of the world, stunt you're growth. Parents have a huge responsibility for shaping the way their child will deal with life even as an adult

Peter Straub’s _Ghost Story_ is the scariest book I ever read. I read it as I lay by the swimming pool in my grandparents’ backyard-the epitome of safeness in my messed up life-and I was absolutely terrified.

Please Upload the interviews with writer director Nora Ephron, from 1971 where the second guest left and Nora and Dick had to fill in the rest of the show. Cavett wrote about it after her passing...."After what seemed like an hour of gasping for air, lurches and restarts and awful pauses, we had killed only 10 minutes. Only 20 to go. As the closing theme song mercifully sneaked in and the eon-length show faded from the screen, we, at least figuratively and maybe in fact, fell into each other’s arms like two survivors pulled from a mine."

Gotta love Stephen King letting his 3 year old watch The Shining. Warped young minds is a family tradition.

Any idea who Groucho Marx was talking about in Dick's story when the audio cut out?
@MysteryStew59772 жыл бұрын
No, but there are a few good Cavett-on-Marx interviews up on here, I wouldn't be surprised if the story came from Groucho's lips on-camera

I've always thought this. It's a very typically mid-1970s middle America look. But yup, you're not wrong.

warped in that people will choose to pay money to be scared? fear brings people together. kind of like someone who is addicted to the thrill of war and combat. without fear there cannot be courage.
