I loved your stories tonight. Lee-Ske guarding the gate while Cora took a break and Cora sharing some of her special yogurt food. Makes me happy to know they are bonded. I’ve never heard of a dog coming into heat right after delivering. All our mothers were well past weaning. I’d say it was about 4 months after delivering. It’s best to let Cora rest at least one heat cycle in between breeding but your vet will advise you. I raised German Shepherds, it might be different for Anatolian Shepherds. You’re going to have a blast with the puppies. They are so much fun. I used to laugh when they all would get in their food dish - what a mess but so hilarious. Cora is a wonderful mother. Ooooh. That's why the geese look like they've been through the dryer. Also, buy utensils specifically for use outdoors. I have no idea how many spoons my dad lost in the garden because he wouldn't buy a trowl. Then we moved to Montana and all the measuring cups disappeared to measure oil and gas for the chainsaw.

At a month you may want to help her and them out and start putting a milk replacer in with puppy food. They’ll be shredding those nipples and that’ll give her a break, she’ll still nurse them until she’s Had It. What a super dog. My mother in law had 10 children and I was blessed with her last.

The poles I used for fencing poles, The small solar light fits very well on top of them. That gave me solar lights on my fence.

Our vet suggested we start offering puppies puppy chow mush as soon as their eyes open. He said they'll crawl all over it at first. I would just say to keep this in mind and use your judgement as to when to start. Look for weight loss or obvious signs of hunger or Kora not being able to keep up with pups needs. You have a wonderful litter there. Puppy breath is the best!

Especially since most momma dogs don't let the father as close as he was. Ie letting him in the box with her and being over her sniffing. Then getting pretty close fence/gate nor without one. They are both one in a million Especially the fact that when Kora girl leaves he guards their babies ❤

Check Cora's backend to see if there is a discharge. She shold have "cleaned" within a few days after having the puppies, but if there is still a discharge now, she could have retained a placenta and that can cause a nasty infection and even infertility in the future. Since it's almost impossible for you to get her in the car to the vet, you might check if a mobile vet can check her and treat her if needed. I can't wait to see the pups start tottering around - they are their cutest at about 3-5 weeks. Cora's a good mama and Leeske is being a good, protective daddy.

They come back in season when the pups are around 4 months, no need to worry yet. They lose some discharge for a few weeks after whelping it's normal. Cora will leave the pups for longer now to get a break, she knows they are OK. You are doing a great job.

She reminds me of my dads dog, catahoula ridgeback with a leopard mix in there. She had 13 pups and they were a riot as they grew and messy. I only partially helped with the pups but it was pure chaos. Very smart dogs and puppies.

I haven’t watched them for a few days and they have grown so big Cora is doing a fantastic job I used to breed and show Irish setters who would always have large litter and it’s a very hard thing to do. You are doing a fantastic job taking care of mum, dad and pups plus taking care of all the other animals on the farm before long they will be waiting at the gate the minute they hear your voice it’s great,then the fun really begins. Cats can go into estrus while they’re nursing a litter, but I don’t know about dogs. You can put some doggy hygiene panties on her, haha. I hope you will bring a puppy over to Mojo when they’re old enough. Maybe Mojo can train up a puppy for his pasture. What kind of chew toys will you get so they don’t chew up their pen? It won't take, long before they start trying to crawl thru the fencing a d over the the wood slat on the bottom of the door puppies can get thru and over things that you wouldn't think they are old enuf to do. Puppies are amazing

Mama dogs go into anestrus postpartum (after giving birth) in which they do not go into heat. This time can last from several weeks to months. Don't believe everything you hear from the internet. It's amazing how quickly you get used to new sounds on the farm (newborn puppies).
