I was a sin rogue main through Ulduar and ToGC with a few 99 Ulduar parses, and your original interpretation of envenom was my exact interpretation of it as well, so I hope these guys weren’t so hard on you, because you seem to be very apologetic, and I think there is a large number of people that had the exact same thinking that you did.

I had thought that it was weird clipping the envenom would make the envenom hit do less damage thanks for the update. I agree it hasn't changed my rotation much but I can think of a couple situations where I capped energy a bit in an effort to avoid clipping.

I feel like Rouge 101 is to just never cap on energy, because that's ultimately a wasted resource, even if that means clipping Envenom.

A lot of folks would keep small mistakes like this to themselves or double down. Thanks for owning up to it. 👍

@@bigdook not to exaggerate or anything about the inherent value about a video like this. But I think it’s really important to just be really open to being wrong at any time. Good on you for correcting the mistake, but this has to be one of the biggest "who cares" mistakes I've ever seen. Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but I can't even think of a way it would affect the rotation. As a side note, can anyone remember the video where the dude recommends using backstab outside of exececute for sin? Was trying to find it to link to guildies, shit's hilarious.

Dude that was the only rotation guide i watched, my first few heroics I’m fucking backstabbing until I read both tooltips/energy cost/average damage etc…and told myself “no fucking way I should be backstabbing pre execute” and proceeded to muti until 35%

Nice , so I was playing the right way the whole time :D ps: does it matter with how much CP you apply rupture? as long as its up?
@Sqwurrelly5 ай бұрын
@@LeutnantArko usually you want to make use of the scaling AP modifier at higher CP but uptime is more important

Going to echo what everybody else said - Don't sweat it. There's far too little Cata knowledge videos and it would be a shame if we lost one of our best creators to a silly mistake
@daveprince135 ай бұрын
So we still wanna land two mutilates in the window? Or send envenom and not worry about The 2nd mutilate landing with envenom so much? Like, is envenom uptime worth more than muti with the buff or is muti worth more dps with lower envenom uptime? That’s always been my eternal assa question. It seemed in wrath ICC we wanted to send as early as possible, even in ToGC that became the normal advice. But in cata our energy regen is way slower so I’m guessing it might be a “we do this in P1” type thing again.
@Sqwurrelly5 ай бұрын
@@daveprince13 I don’t want to mislead you with a short answer so I’m gonna over explain as a precaution. Generally speaking we want to only really pool to 60ish energy for Envenom pooling because this usually unless we are refreshing rupture gives us plenty of time to cast 2 mutilates IF we need to to get to 4/5 CP for Envenom. We don’t ever want to waste Combo points. We also never want to waste energy. When you are swimming in energy on pull/during cooldown phases or even just a very lucky string of ruthlessness procs, feel free to clip your envenoms a little as to not energy cap, as well as utilize that DMG increase from trinket procs/CDs. If you are pooling correctly, the simple TLDR is, you want as much envenom uptime as possible because you are just more likely to get more applications of poisons through Mutilates attacking with both weapons for more applications while envenom is active. Your questions a little vague? Because the way you’d generate combo points to even use envenoms and chain them is through Mutilate anyway? I feel like this is asking if it’s cool to waste combo points in a sense and that answer is no? If you need more clarification let me know
