Everyone was wrong about the Clippers. I thought they were a bottom five team in the western conference knowing that Kawhi was gone for nearly half the year, but credit Harden and Powell fitting well together as well as Kris Dunn being one of the better defensive guards this season.

Its a long shot, but a Thunder vs Clippers WCF would go crazy. Shai would probably cook us in a revenge series and that would be peak nightmare scenario for Clipper fans. I dont see anyone beating OKC otw to the WCF, but a battle between the best defenses and two similar style players in Kawhi and Shai, could be epic.

Revenge? The Clippers actually did Shai a favor by trading him. They were in position to contend, so I doubt that Shai was going to get ample opportunity to really shine outside of being a good role player behind Kahwi, PG, and the other vets on the squad. Who could've foreseen the Kawhi-PG era failing as badly as it did?

@@urbaindelva7869 Kawhi couldve given Shai a chance, he was a free agent. If Kawhi and the Clippers gave Shai a chance, Shai wouldve still been this good. Shai models his game after Kobe, just like Kawhi. Both guys operate in the post, ultra efficient isolation and pick and roll threats. Great defenders. Shai has a ridiculous first step, just like Kawhi during his years on the Spurs. I think Shai and Kawhi wouldve achieved far more than Kawhi and PG, the Clippers did the Thunder a favor tho and these are all hypotheticals.

@@urbaindelva7869nobody woulda guessed how bad PG wouldve been. He regressed so much; he single handedly ruined the Clippers playoff run in the bubble. After that, you can ask any fan, PG was just the epitome of inconsistency. Meanwhile, Kawhi was playing better than he did in Toronto and Shai was becoming an All Star. Clippers fumbled the bag massively with the Shai trade, but Kawhi would be with the Lakers with Lebron and AD, since again, Kawhi was a Free Agent. There was never a need to trade for PG, but no one coulda imagined PG to play as bad after an MVP caliber season

I still thought they could realistically make the playoffs and was getting upset at so many ppl putting them at 12 seed or 11 seed meanwhile seeing the same ppl make Golden State as playoff locks and Pelicans as fringe play in and im here like am I the crazy one cause I would easily take both those teams over Golden State. But they are even proving me wrong at this point had the Clippers 8-10 easily with chance to sneak in at 6-7 with some injury luck but look at them go

Powell has had multiple seasons averaging 19 or just very close to 20 on basically the exact same efficiency as he’s had so far this season. He’s always been this good of a scorer. Just needed opportunity

People forget that Harden is a regular season demigod. He made Houston a top 4 seed in the West and a contender surrounded by players like PJ Tucker, Daniel House and other random role players. He did this in the GS era as well btw which had a great west. He’s doing it this season as well. Playoff time he definitely falls off but if Kawhi is healthy they could do some serious damage as Kawhi turns into MJ Jr in the playoffs.

I had us 8th seed even with the assumption that kawhi would be in and out. Their defense is way better than I could’ve dreamed. I believe we win a round at most with the current roster. Kris Dunn is the best defensive guard in the league. Zubac and Bamba dominate the middle with rebounds and blocks. Clippers are one of the best defensive teams in the NBA.

i feel like people are not noticing that Harden is still the number 1 option on the team. almost all other teams treat him like the number 1 option, at least. that's exactly why his efficiency is meh and that's exactly why Zubac and Powell have career years - Harden's putting everything on the line and taking all of the attention which frees everyone else. he wasn't playing like this last season, but he really embraced that role of the "fake" no1 option. i also think it's commendable just how much he doesn't seem to care about his efficiency - he just does what needs to be done for the team, despite what he's losing individually (perceived value as a player due to his poor efficiency). Harden chucks and chucks difficult shots one after another, sometimes (i feel like) even knowing that he won't make it.

Besides the off season additions, the only thing different was Zu and Norm getting more touches and minutes.

Had them as a 10th/11th seed, I never thought they would be bad but I didn’t know how much more harden could give. But it was hard to judge harden seeing as he had to Share the ball with Westbrook, Kawhi, PG. But Norman Powell was right addition by subtraction. Crazy how they lose an all NBA defensive player in PG and Kawhi for most of the season and now they’re one of the best defences in the league. Shout out Ty Lue for what he’s done. As an OKC fan was hoping they would suck this year so we could get a high lottery pick but we’re relying on 76ers now but theirs is top 6 protected unlike LA’s. but Norman Powell getting all that love is so good to see always loved him as a player he deserves it dudes an NBA champion and 31 years old but somehow having the best year of his career. Also seeing PG’s ego being destroyed by 76ers being worse than Podcast P is slightly enjoyable we got plenty more picks so getting to see Harden do well is good to see, he’ll always be an okc legend to me
