Mavs have a top 10 offensive and defensive rating, both top 8 when adjusted for schedule. All while Luka has been playing the worst stretch of his career and they’ve been down 4 rotation players. They played great teams (healthy Suns, Golden State, Denver) down to the wire despite it and have lost on the margins. They’ll still be great and I’ll come back to this.

Im hoping off the Luka band wagon. He can score points but all that iso ball is not it smh. People want to flame JJ in LA but he's over there actually coaching. What the hell is Jason Kid doing? You allow Luka to play with no passion out of shape lazy no defense iso my turn your turn with ky , and when ky has the ball or anybody on offense Luka acts like the statue of liberty , he does absolutely nothing to help his team. You won't cut set a screen to try to help them score or anything. Most of the time it's 5 vs 4 that's coaching. I'm straight on them

They lost 3 games by 2 or less. Could've easily been wins, but thems the breaks. People were overreacting about Klay in the preseason as well. Everyone's overreacting. Calm down and stop behaving like emotional women.

The mavs are NOT terrible. Yeah, they may be in a rut, but they can get out of it. You may forget that in the last 4 games, they have lost by a total of 8 points. If they play a touch better in the clutch in those games, they would have a respectable record. I do agree they are underperforming, but to already call them a terrible team is a horrible take.

The one thing I can say to defend the Mavs is that the Jazz have some really good players. Any other franchise would have already traded them for picks, but the Jazz have Danny Ainge, who's famous for maximizing trade value. If he doesn't fleece you, he's not gonna make the trade. So some of these good Jazz players are kind of hostage. Also John Collins is on a run

The Mavs are like the Cavs use to be during Lebron second stint. Regular season and night to night just not locked in. Extremely tough to beat in 7 games in the playoffs.

mavs had a lucky cinderella run where they caught every team in the west flat footed. Minny was gassed from a physical denver series in the wcf. This squad isn't getting anywhere CLOSE to that ever again

I wouldn’t say “terrible”. You cant be terrible with Luka, Kyrie, and Klay, but I will say they are not nearly as good as I expected. And with how good the warriors are looking…. Tough reality check for Klay

Part of the reason the Mavs always seem to improve over the course of a season is that Luka always shows up incredibly out of shape. This season is no different. He really needs to focus on maintaining his body, because at this point, the injuries are piling up. Also, lifelong Warriors fan, this is just who Klay is now. You shouldn’t expect him to be better. The Mavs should definitely be concerned. They’ve regressed while the entire Western conference has gotten better.

Their big shot was last season. This season a strong offense is taken for granted. But it’s the stronger defensive teams are rising to the top. Mac’s are middle of the pack at best. Luca is overrated and whines way too much to enjoy watching them play.

I think their biggest problems are having 3 sub-par defenders on the court when Luka Kyrie Klay are playing, and none of their bigs except Washington having a jumpshot

Ya just know an OKC fan enjoyed making this 😂 Yeah Mavs suck right now and Luka is struggling, no doubt. But no one seems to be talking about how the team made a conscious decision to play Luka off ball more this season to preserve his health and stamina for the late season and Luka has openly admitted to struggling to adapt to that. Its a huge factor. Also youre talking about how its a problem with Naji in the starting lineup, but that PJ injury you mentioned is WHY Naji is in the starting 5. Its not what The Mavs plan on doing with Naji

Also this team Is still fairly new.. bringing In 3 new guys, with Klay being one we want to add to the starting 5 like Its gonna be an adjustment for sure. and the lost vs Nuggets & Suns were without Pj and Lively. like I feel like because Mavs made It to the Finals theres this higher level of expectation which I get It.. but theres sooo many nm games left. with less Mavs did more and Im sure they will figure things out. Naji & Grimes have been solid. Grimes shouldve had a 4 point play vs Warriors. maybe Im just optimistic but Mavs dont seem all that bad. need work but again theres time.

Luka also seems like he puts on 5-10 lbs every damn off-season. It doesn’t look like he’s in the gym. He thinks he can be The Joker with his physique but doesn’t have Jokic’s ridiculous IQ! He’s also not Shaq who packed on weight but was dominant in the paint & used his weight to his advantage. Luka looks lazy out there. During vital defensive plays, he was just standing there like a PRACTICE CONE. Love him but bro needs to get fit again.
