I grew up a few hours drive north of San Francisco, twenty miles from the ocean, in an extremely liberal family. In college most of my peers, including myself, were liberal. After years in the real world I became more conservative. Owning businesses and becoming a productive member of society will do that to ya🤔 I’m filled with empathy, love, and understanding. I lived with both trans and gay people and used to go to gay bars with my roommate in my early twenties all the time. In fact, I met my black girlfriend in a gay bar. I’m almost fifty years old now and am married with children. My in-laws are extremely liberal too but when my nine year old daughter told me half her class is trans, I wondered why the F my child even knows these things🤬 I genuinely will love my children regardless of what their religion, sexuality, etc becomes but after some investigation it became abundantly clear that there really is an indoctrination going on. Victimhood is a new religion and it will have detrimental consequences on the youth. The fact that I have to preface this comment with my backstory really shows where we’re at these days and how utterly insane this “woke” ideology has become. I’ve been called a transphobic, homophobic, racist. Ummm🤔 I’m pretty sure transphobic, homophobes don’t voluntarily live with trans and gay people and racists don’t date the race they supposedly hate. Yet, here we are. Honesty and integrity are supposed to be the foundational blocks that we base a civilized society on and the “woke” lunatics are the antithesis of those morals. These “woke” piles of human sh!t need to quit hijacking our emotions through blatant lies and quit preying upon actual victims as they push this ridiculous agenda. I recall in high school asking my teacher what political party I belonged to and she said if I didn't know, that meant I was a democrat. When I turned 18, I registered as a democrat and started watching the debates. During this time, I noticed that the republican candidate fell more in line with what I believed. Strong family unit, following a moral compass and keeping the government off our backs so we could prosper on our own. I crossed party lines and voted for the republican and changed my party preference as soon as I was able to. I'm Hispanic and I have never missed a vote. I'm presently 62. E.M

Your teacher was right, if you don't know, you're a Democrat, because they don't do any research and just listen to what they're told to believe
@AA-iy4gm8 күн бұрын
One of the things that keep me an independent voter is "government off our backs" when we know that the Republican party is notorious for lobbying for dirty industry, questionable products in our food and medicine, and shortcuts in infrastructure, because shortcuts and lack of regulations means more profits but at the cost of people's health and well being, so its often "my prosperity at the cost of yours" mentality. It's very naive to ignore human nature and tendency to go after profit and overlook things that may stall that profit. When humans prove that they have evolved beyond that, I'll reconsider. Until then both parties need to be held accountable and not be given ultimate or blind support.
@formes23883 күн бұрын
@@AA-iy4gm I'm Canadian but - a lot of the same crap happens. Growing up, parents definitely voted Liberal Party, blindly were anti-conservative, but - as soon as I could vote, I was 100% about policy. I have voted Liberal, Conservative, and NDP. But with what has taken place - I doubt I will ever vote for the Liberal party again: They are so far gone, so stuck in the ideology, so blind to reality, so adherent to a single person with basically every other strong potential entity shoved out the door or silenced into irrelevance - or apart of the problem. I can remember having a conversation about this reality. About outlining the damage that the previous trudeau had done, and asked "How the hell did no one talk about this?" I haven't got an answer - but the silence is deafening in how loud an answer it is. The problem of the American System is that of Corruption - the revolving door between regulator, and industry. If you want a job: You can't be too harsh, and - you need to have value which means there needs to be wiggle room in any regulation you push. This is the problem of democrats AND republicans. I'm hopeful trump can plug at least SOME of these wholes. If he can? Corporate Democrats AND Republicans are more or less done. Edit: And if he can and does - there will be pressure in Canada to clean up the system because... can't say you are better then the US if you are strictly worse.

My wake up moment was in 2019 when I was out to lunch with my Liberal friends and one of them got up to yell at and spit on a table of old men minding their own business while wearing MAGA hats. The rest of my friends at our table cheered and even egged her on. I was horrified and suddenly realized I was in the wrong group. It took some research and deep questioning of everything I had previously thought and believed about Republicans and conservatives. I was determined to be as clear-eyed as I could so I could stand behind my convictions with something more than the platitudes that I had previously spouted. He was, to the best of my knowledge, the last Dem who supported lowering taxes, gun rights, strengthening our military and the like while opposing different left agendas like abortion (this one is based on who he appointed to the Supreme Court if I remember correctly, it's been a year since I delved into JFK).

My brother works as a highschool teacher in Baltimore city which is 90% black and liberal and he was told by the staff (also 90% black and liberal) in no subtle way that if any student was on the verge of failing he was to give them enough points for a passing grade so that they would not have to repeat a year and the graduate rate of the school wouldnt drop and there by keeping their funding. One year in and he is already burned out from all the liberal bs the staff are pushing on the students and is counting the days before he leaves for good. Liberal/democrate run schools dont actually care about the actual success of their students, they are sending kids out into the world un-informed, un-prepared, expecting them to succeed and then act shocked when they fail blaming it on systemic racism and the "oppression" of black people.

My favorite so far in the Walk Away series. You summed up my feelings exactly. I'm 66 and my faith crumbled after Obama was elected. I was literally dancing in the streets I was so excited as where we were as a nation. The change we could believe in. It was just one disappointment after the next . He didn't accomplish a single thing he ran on. From the health care , the labels on our food, closing Gitmo, codifying Roe, the No lobbyists in his administration, the Nobel peace prize winner droning the F out of the Middle East , the water in Flint tasting great to him, the implication that we were a racist nation when we had elected him twice to the highest level in the land etc. etc. yet it still wasn't enough for me to walk away. Covid did it for me. The fact that if you questioned anything you were a hateful far right extremist. The censorship to protect a narrative that turned out to be a colossal lie when you felt it in your bones. The propaganda and idolizing Fauci that had at the very least a questionable career, the mandates, business closings and total disregard for the effects this was having on our school systems, our children. It was all so sinister and far deeper than I could imagine. I was pretty much done then. I am just still in disbelief as to how far and gullible the democrats have gone since Biden was elected. It defies all logic. They have zero compassion in them. How you can see whats going on in the trans community and not question the boat load of heart ache coming to these peoples lives. How you can sit and watch the border issue and not see the devastation it's causing. Not just for us but the immigrants themselves. There is NOTHING compassionate about any of it. Our elected officials are attending the WEF in Davos, the bull shit solutions for climate change being offered up by people flying around in private jets, with private yachts living in multiple mansions that are sucking us dry is in your face yet ignored. The Gates foundation, Clinton foundation, Epstein's client list ,the endless wars, the condemning journalists and glorifying script readers pushing divisiveness and hatred. There is a demented man standing at the helm that is NOT in Controle of anything . Who is running this country? Call me a racist, call me anti-trans, call me unamerican, call me a far right extremist, call me anything you want. I don't care anymore. I am so done with the democratic party. They have none of our best interests at heart and we are watching the systematically ruin this country.

In 2021, she SUDDENLY had a heart attack in the middle of the night and died, and nothing has been the same!!😥😢 But little by little and especially when Obama got elected it all came back to me!! Everything she had told me about was actually HAPPENING!! I was never a Democrat, but not always a Republican either. So, I registered as an Independent YEARS AGO!! Barbara Wall Media pictures "communism" as something out of a comic book villain, but the reality is that it all begins with a loophole of good intentions through social programs and governmental growth, and ends with corruption and economical distrust. If you let marketeers dictate the game, masses will begin forcing “democracy” as in every decision has to be voted for. Little do they know that pure democracy is also a problem, as there are a lot of laws that can get passed due to an overwhelming amount of less experienced voters and welfare dependants whose votes are either being manipulated or bias on a personal level. That said, the objective of the “left wing” is always to appeal to the masses, NOT to what is good for a society. What do masses want? Universal income, no guns, world peace... things that are unachievable, but sell like cotton candy to people who can’t grasp the big picture. When they say “drain the swamp”, they really mean to get rid of these lawmakers who’s entire careers depends on the next big pitch to milk on tax money.

@@Ufe3d Capitolists own their Cow-they can sell the Cow or the Milk-the buyer decides if they want to pay that amount. It's an age old ploy. You create and maintain the social injustice, and then you utilize never ending propaganda aimed at casting blame on the opposition, and framing yourselves as the solution. Except that the "solution" has always been the source of the disease. The Democratic Party for decades has depended on the perception of racism and victimhood to ensure unquestioning votes from the minority portion of voters. ("if you don't vote for me, you ain't black"). They absolutely know that they need a large majority of African Americans to see themselves as "victims" of the white establishment and that only the Dems will be their voice of sympathy. So, they not only spend most of their time playing the race card for just about everything, they continue to grow and maintain policies that perpetuate a sense of "victimhood" to make sure African Americans have plenty of reasons to grab onto victimhood, play the race card, and continue to vote for the ones who will hold their hands consoling them for their victimhood. This is not rocket science. The Dems fully get it that if they lose even 25% of the black vote to the Republicans, they are probably finished. Thus, they NEED back voters to continue to see themselves as "victims". It is a frightening thing for them to even consider that a majority of African Americans might begin to see that this "victimhood" thing is not paying dividends. That all it is, is an age old sinister trick. Do you really think that Al Sharpton and friends wants to see an end to this perception of victimhood?? What would he do then? He needs it, he feeds from it, he actually loves it. We saw the exact same thing with the PLO and Yasser Arafat. Jimmy Carter offered him the moon to achieve a real peace agreement with Israel, and he turned it down, because it would have been the end of his reign, the end of the spot light. Hispanic Americans are beginning to wake up, and so are African Americans, and that is shaking the Dems to the core and is why they are doubling down on the "Trump is a racist" over and over, even thought there is no evidence to support that. If one actually desires to see real historical evidence of a racist past, one need look no further than the last 45 years of Joe Bidens career. Of course the Dems will never point that out because genuine racism is not the issue. Power is. If the real racism doesn't serve their need to support their power grab, you will not hear about it. So, if its not there in the place they need it, they will create it or do everything they can you make you believe it is there. This is actually the most sinister form of real racism.I have never been more convinced that the Democratic Party is NOT a friend of African Americans.

I'm studying Sustainable Development and Resource and Environment Management, and these last two semesters I noticed my professors are sharing very loosely scientific videos, such as one or two stats and then a whole lot of assumptions, and that they're quoting Marixts in lectures or assigning papers that do. I started to get quite uncomfortable with this as they were not being upfront with their political agendas, rather packaging it as the only way to a sustainable future. We were given writing assignments such as, "why must social justice be a foundational aspect to sustainable communities?", and articles which blatantly said things such as, "we don't know the impact of these political decisions but we must continue with them regardless", or, "create confusion, create ambiguity, constantly change the narrative", it was sickening and this last week I've gone down a long path of realizing all the lies. It's quite disheartening knowing that we truly do need more sustainable business practices and better environmental protection yet the goals are being hijacked by impractical ideas. I'm now in constant struggle with my professors explaining to them that in order for us to have a sustainable future we need clear goals and marxism or post-modernism does not provide that path.

Of course, we need some government regulation on corporations to internalize the societal costs of externalities, environmental regulations and tax CO2, etc. but these issues can all be regulated in a market with correct pricing, e.g. for CO2. I can also recommend the book “Enlightenment Now” by Steven Pinker. It’s packed with statistics and data to argue against the doom and gloom anti-Western ideology that I also faced at University.

Marxism/Leftism cannot supply the virtuous motivation though because they are simply "team players", willing to lie and they don't care about individual human rights.

Keep your eyes open - listen, to real resource professionals who have cared for and nurtured the protected areas - and then take your own professional career in the direction you want - after that experience. Do NOT think that the "academy" knows what is best - many of your professors are basing what they say on what others have said to them. As a minority who grew up in one of these poor areas, I went through these terrible public schools from elementary to high school and I couldn't agree with you more, listening to your story is so reaffirming to hear. Unfortunately, I have to see my nephews and nieces going through the same terrible school systems I did...nothing has changed in 25 years, and if anything it feels like academic standards for these kids have just gotten increasingly worst. With such low expectations its no surprise a lot of these minority teens pushed through failing schools are so ill equipped to handle college (if they are lucky enough to make it that far). I firmly believe this is one of the primary reasons for the perpetuated poverty among black and brown people. They make us feel like victims who must be dependent on the democratic party and woke progressives to save us. These kids DO NOT need to be saved by power hungry legislatures or teachers unions who are well versed in diversity training, they need parents and teachers who are going to help prepare and equip them to navigate their academic journey ahead. They need to know that they have the capability to reach their dreams if they are willing to work hard for it, and that their skin's pigmentation plays no role in whether they reach their goals or not, just a willingness to apply themselves. Thank you for sharing your message and thank you for not just saying you care about minority poor children but actually doing something about it. We NEED more teachers like you!

But I was also awakened by allowing myself to use my God given gifts of intelligence, reason and a deep need to seek understanding for what I was seeing around me. I need to understand and not just accept what I am being told. Perhaps, because I am older than you, I had to read books like “1984” by George Orwell and “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley. I was a young teen at the time and was shook by those books and so the premises were stuck in my head. I remember thinking at the time I read them “well, that could never happen here”. Gradually as time went on I could see that thinking creeping into our leaders and our governmental institutions. Especially the educational system as my kids travelled through the system and then as a working RN the changes I saw coming into healthcare. I felt like a tin hat wearer for the longest time. I understand the isolation and trepidation you have felt by allowing yourself to think the unthinkable.😊I am so glad you broke through the propaganda. This was absolutely fantastic! Georgia, the integrity, clarity, and cogency with which you chronicle your journey from the hive mind of the Democratic party is so very inspiring. At the heart of what I have endeavored to instill in my students over 30 years of public school teaching are the very principles you have now come to cherish. Of course, being a conservative, middle aged black man living in the bluest part of blue California (the Bay Area) makes me a bit of an odd duck, if not a lonely one, but hearing your testimony gives me a glimmer of hope for America's future. I was especially struck by your insights into the practices and leftist indoctrination that inform teacher preparation in Teach for America. As it happens, the current principal at my school began her career in this program, and your observations makes sense of everything that I have seen in her leadership. With saccharine intentions, she has required all those among my colleagues who lack your intellectual curiosity and courage to menace children with a toxic mix of critical theory and historical revisionism. As for me, the amount of melanin I possess, along with the fact that I'll be retiring at the end of this year, privileges me to speak against these machinations without fear of reprisal. What a shame it is that public education has come to this; it's truly Orwellian. Georgia, you have a beautiful mind (and by the way, I think you have the most exquisitely elegant hands I've ever seen). Thank you for putting yourself out there, I know the times are such that to do so is not without some danger. There are a lot more of us than most of US realize as well. It's easy to continue to be deceived about certain things especially when even the conservative media participates in it (like reporting the "latest poll numbers", etc - those are never accurate) and even though you may know better already, the subliminal effect is strong. The subconscious mind is where we store facts that we know are true. That's why we get so hostile when someone challenges any of the things we know are true like facts we haven't dusted off and held up to the light for years because there's no need. Those factoids don't even need to have anything to do with us personally, but we feel like the other person is holding our child up & humiliating him in public. That also applies to my belief that mine is NOT in fact a blue state! The leftists cheat, plain and simple so you can never trust those blue & red maps. California has way too much (D) tyranny powering it, but the more Dems they put in positions of power, the more they can get into positions of power. @Boston is my race track Hmmm. That's the thing. But you never know who is watching. One thing leads to another when newbies are being Redpilled. People who are curious to know more begin questioning because they get hold of some information. Perhaps, someone gives them a particular channel to check out, so they go there and then they hear about another and info starts to come up in their feed. I have given the names of specific channels to people and I know that if they continue the rabbit hole will open and they will learn more and more. So, even though conservative sites may mostly be preaching to the choir, they get new viewers all the time. We all had to start somewhere. Like attracts like. I also believe that there is spiritual help for sure guiding people to the truth. I know that there was for me back in 2016. Actually, it began about 2 weeks before the election. A shift happened. The morning I awoke to hear the results of the election, there were two very prominent things. Firstly, I was actually very happy that he had won and I didn't understand that. All that day, it was like I was floating. I mean, it was like a feeling of all is well with the world. I had no explanation for that. My spiritual Guidance was making it very clear that I should rethink my opinion of this man, Donald Trump who had been elected President. The other thing is that from day 1 of his Presidency, I was supposed to watch him closely and listen to him for myself (NOT filtered through some news show) and that's what I did. At the time, I didn't understand why I was being led to do that, but I listened. I know my Guidance so I paid attention and followed it and I'm so glad that I did. Over time, I began to see exactly why I was told to listen to him myself as opposed to someone else telling me what was said. Others are being guided, as well. I believe that every minute in this world someone is truly Waking Up out of the Matrix, probably a bit stunned but realizing that they're not in Kansas anymore. IMO, they never were, really. So, we have enormous help. Trump2Q2Q!!!

My big awakening came from when I was in a cult about ten years ago. I was the guy who was helping the rape victims. I didn't sign up to be a part of this, I was an unvetted outsider who got a room in a party house that had a pool, a recording studio, and a huge property filled with tons of very lost people. I figured out I was in a cult while still inside and in the process of doing this everything started to fall apart - the victims were stacking up, the people in charge became addicted to heroin and I made myself a target by reporting the rapes. After this my life became absolute hell and as I was "red-pilling" people in this community about the community we were in, Trump was running for president. I wasn't particularly impressed with him initially and identified as mostly democratic - this was in Seattle so naturally everyone identified as liberal. I realized the media was lying about Trump, accusing him of being Hitler and calling Mexicans rapists - in the process of educating people about this community it slipped up that I believed Trump was going through something similar. I was like, "Look guys, the leaders of this community are going to lie about me when I report the rapes because whenever you expose corruption all the corruption gets projected onto you, kind of like with Trump..." Well, these people thought Trump was Hitler, so they canceled me after I reported the rapes and the community fell completely apart. I was canceled for simply being perceived as "conservative" even though I wasn't very conservative at all! The people in this community continued doing what they were doing without me, and more girls got raped and people started dying of drug overdoses... I hardly spoke to anyone after this (they wouldn't talk to me) and spent the following 6-7 years sleeping in my car and delivering pizza to save money so I could get away from these people... Oh, I was SO canceled. Ultimately I realized it was more important for these people to be ignorant and hate Trump than it was to help the rape victims or further prevent more people from being raped... The political leaning of this community was literally 100% woke and on the left.... Were these people tolerant? Yes, they were tolerant of secrets, rape, drugs, and death. Were they caring? Yes, they cared about themselves, and only themselves... This was the beginning of my journey in search of the truth......

“I began to cry . . . .” As a father of 3 children, military veteran (9yrs), retired law enforcement officer (21yrs), person born and raised in California (32yrs there) and husband to a NICU RN (26yrs) I began to cry as I listened to you speak. I love my country, I love my fellow Americans. It saddens, shocks, and dismays me to see the faux “wokism” SOOO many seem to have bought into and the damage it does to our country and its institutions. To hear a person of your background, experience, and intellect describe her own “red pilled” experience was beautiful and gave me an added measure of hope. God bless you for having the courage to speak your mind. You are a hero to me. I KNOW the courage it must have taken for you to say this. Sadly, for you to speak “your truth”, you had to risk friendships, family relationships, and other “social acceptance” to speak from the heart. Your courage and the hope that it gave me is what brought me to tears. - 14 Settle it therefore in your hearts . . . . 15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom . . . . 16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends Luke 21:14-16 - 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. @Z Nearly half of Republicans don't agree with the Derek Chauvin verdict. You have to be blind now not to see the republican party has morphed into the largest white supremacy organization in America. There are still some good Republicans like Adam Kinziger. I even voted for the republican candidate for governor of California. But if any black person thinks the republican party is black people's savior is utterly dillusional, and they can't see the forest for the trees. Most black people and other minorities work hard and keep on keeping on, even working 2 jobs. THEY ARE NOT DEPENDING ON THE DEMOCRAT PARTY LIKE MAGA REPUBLICANS SAY. IN CONTRAST: White scared racist bigots are relying on extreme republican governors like DeSantis and Abbott to ban black history figures like MLK, Rosa Parks, even Puerto Rican baseball player Roberto Clemente. They have tried to ban teaching on the holocaust and were even caught on tape saying if the holocaust is taught, then there's need to be an alternative view other than it was racist and evil. Without a doubt, white people who teach revisionist , fake , white washed history are the ones enslaved to a maga republican party to create a false reality.

@@delubiod1970 essentially, the modern Republican party has shifted to the extreme by advocating for increasingly anti-science policies on health care, reproductive rights, global warming and so on. They have been completely destroyed on objective facts and science, so they've resorted to this populist rhetoric and cultural war nonsense that ultimately does not matter. This is rooted in an existential crisis that the white culture is increasingly becoming a minority (the replacement theory). Not everyone on Right will say they believe in the replacement theory, but their political positions are certainly influenced by it. They are afraid of everyone and everything that looks different from themselves. They are advancing increasingly fascist, politically manipulative strategies because they know in a purely fair and free election where each vote counted they would never win a national election again. At a factual, objective level you see this everywhere in the actions and rhetoric of their politicians, and outright support of a literal criminal enterprise run by their cult of personality leader Trump. They are morally and ideologically bankrupt. Anti science, anti equality, anti gay, pro-religious advocacy positions across the entire spectrum. Their economic positions make no sense and generally run contrary to modern mainstream economic theory on the creation of wealth. They are anti-immigration despite the FACT that immigration on net brings economic benefit to societies. This is supported by an abundance of factual evidence, eye witness statements, court documents and records, and hard, objective peer reviewed scientific research that runs directly contrary to the Republican position. They are so focused on this "anti woke" bullshit as a diversionary tactic to influence rubes like this content creator. Like, how is someone crapping on the street sufficient evidence to switch parties? It's irrational. As if zero thought is given to the actual resource constraints on public officials and law enforcement in maintaining a heavy urbanized city. People like the content creator are so heavily influenced by far left extremists on twitter and depictions in right wing media, with apparently no understanding of the actual platform the political party stands for. Everything this person is talking about is noise compared to the actual policies and laws the Right advocates. Look at the Roe decision alone and the resulting impact of 13 year old girls being forced to give birth, and women's lives being put in direct danger because of restrictions placed on doctors to prevent life saving procedures. This is either an example of stupidity and short sighted thinking, or pure malice. Like the dog who caught up to the car who didn't know what to do with it. Anyone who looks at these cases and thinks they are good outcomes is an immoral human being who lacks empathy. But these cases are a direct, intentional consequence of anti-abortion laws the Right has advocated for decades, they are not mistakes. And don't even get me started on foreign policy. They are more supportive of enemies of the United States (Russia) than the current administration. They advocate for the destruction of key international alliances formed over decades if it means it will hurt liberals. They fantasize and look up to political strongmen, fascists, and tyrants. GOP leadership visited Moscow on the 4th of July, ffs. If you want to say I'm influenced by the liberal media or whatever, no, full, unedited videos, court documents, eye witness testimony, expert opinions and analysis, and scientific research (both "hard" and "soft" science) is available to support all of this.

I am finding that a lot of “very liberal” people who do not accept the woke philosophy are hand in hand with the “conservatives” who believe in hard work, personal responsibility and doing your best to make your own future. But conservatives are shamed, and liberals are accepted. There truly is a large group in the center with some slight differences, but nothing like the hate that the radicals spew. Be the middle.
@mimijaneemi75494 жыл бұрын
Brainiac Computer, I have always been honest with my opinions, but as an elder, I concede that the world today is not as I grew up in, where people would listen to an opposing opinion and still be a friend whether they agreed with you or not. So I offer this as the world has changed: it isn’t necessary to be a teacher to the world, your friends or your family. If your family and friends will shame you or vocally disagree with your opinion when you present it, try to find the inner strength to listen and offer little in return. Sometimes it’s okay to say nothing in order to have the relationships we should expect to be supportive. If you know already they can’t support your opinion, and you won’t convince them of yours, let it go. Sometimes relationships are more important than taking the teacher role. But on Election Day, vote your conscience, and take solace in knowing that you have taken the upper road. You don’t have to be the conscience for your family or friends. Wishing you all the best...💖

You might be right. But you might be wrong or wrong-ish. I like to view a few things through the lens of a child. A child has his/her emotional needs and external needs closer to the surface than an adult. An optimal setting, according to trustworthy studies, is the presence of a good-enough mother and a good-enough father in the home both guiding the child into adulthood. Sometimes a child, and an adult, needs unconditional love and radical forgiveness and sometimes a child, and an adult, needs to stand on their own two feet and rise or fall by their own wits and actions. We might need both parties at times throughout our lives depending on our actual needs but at the end of the day, when Mommy isn’t around to help us, we need to contribute more than we consume. We need to show up and not only take adequate care of ourselves but have adequate dependable structures in place to be able to care for others and help them to become independent contributors to society. We tend to say either or. I’m saying at times we need both.
