Herra has been so much fun, but the current AI spawning system has ruined it for me. Things only spawn in highly populated areas, such as the open grasslands, which would be fine if I liked playing in hotspots, but I don't. Once they fix the AI issues I'll be back on that shit.

i remember making a suggestion back in 2019 for a climber/drop-down attacker niche for herra- so this update, as you can imagine, was a dream come true for me. I'm pretty happy with herra aside from the diet. Idk why teno is on the diet and not something like omni or dilo

@@pedrobrandao2768 I have also managed, it has a weird relationship with fall damage that is not at all intuitive.. Simply put you very quickly go from being 100% fine into being 100% dead with the distance only changing a few meters which feels kinda silly. If it can jump 80m and be fine, there is no reason it should be breaking its legs jumping 85m or outright dying jumping 90m.

Herrerasaurus is one of my favorite playable on evrima. My only dislike is that it get dehydrated almost as fast as a Deino, so you are kinda forced to be close to water to survive.

When these 2 were announced i was fully on the Dilo train, but after it actually realeased i was suprised i enjoyed him as much as i did, at the rate i might switch from troo to herera completly.

The only nitpick I can find about herrera is, despite the devs wanting more realism, it being arboreal and scaly when the irl animal would've never been able to climb trees and was most likely fluffy. Still, I think The Isle's herrera is almost perfect character design and I hope the devs will make the next playables just as fun and unique.

This is what always bothered me. Herrera most likely wasn't adapted to climbing irl. There where dinosaurs we know could climb: Dromaeosaurs! Imo they should have just gone for Deinonychus, it's roughly the same size and had feathered wings and a tailfan, so it would actually make sense for it to fall slower! (even Ark got that right lmao). I think they only reason they choose it for this role i because it had long arms.

I think it takes like, 1 max pounce to the head and a single bite for Herrera to take down an Omni (the bite can be pretty much anywhere) which is insane when you remember that Omni is like 3 times the size of Herrera. And it kills Dilos with 2 pounces to the head. (I think it can even one shot a Galli if it's lucky) So yea it's safe to say that Herrera exceeded my expectations despite the fact that I already expected it to be fun.

@@alunaticwithashotgun9840 it might have been nerfed or something, in the past i’ve hopped in admin servers to test out herrera damage and i’ve one shot omnis to the head. i’ve also one shot omnis in regular survival gameplay recently but that’s unreliable because they might have already been damaged.

I disagree. From my experience, attempting to pounce an omniraptor leads to be being stunned right after and dying. Not sure if its a bug but not being able to move right after a pounce just leads to a swift death.

That's unfortunately the case with a lot of people. I've actually had a really good time with it and I've been lucky enough to avoid a lot of the bugs, but it is a real problem. And even if it's not herrera's fault it still takes away from its gameplay. My only advice is to go for targets that are sitting down or injured so that they take a moment to decide fight or flight in which you can have time to recover yourself

I believe it has to do with how high you jump from. Jump too high and yes, you can do max damage, but you'll be too stunned to get up quick. Jumping from the right height is huge I believe.

it should 1 shot a rex, but seriously they need more stam, I also miss its legacy speed(but that would be unbalanced), also the chances to land a pounce is low. It also can only 1 shot a dryo which most people won't play, as for their swimming? They are basically blind under water so they are croc food.

This is just straight wrong 😂😂😂 so i’llclean up this misinformation rq It’s stamina is pretty shitty but it’s very easy to manage Legacy is completely unneeded It is very easy to pounce anything as a herra literally get good at aiming It also 1 shot or kill effectively the following: juvie stego, adult omnis (headshot), adol carnos, adol tenos, sub ceras, everything in the game under 400kg, and more. And you’re wrong most of the server plays as herra s the thing is tho is that they only lie in east plains if you go to east plains you’ll see around 20 of them on the island no doubt Their not semi aquatic dinosaurs either hence the reason they can’t see well, it’s simply an option so they can kill juvie crocs or get out of trouble quickly.

I have a few things I would want changed with it though. 1. Remove or at least give the option to remove the "on rails" movement on branches, only potato tier players actually think this is a good thing when you cant even run and jump to another tree from a branch unless you are using the 'pounce-jump' system. You cant even walk off a branch, you HAVE to jump down wasting stamina. 1.5 For that matter, you cant even let go once you are climbing something without jumping and wasting stamina, if I want to stop climbing, jumping should not be the only way to do it. Give me back my freedom of movement! 2. Self-stun when you jump from "too high" is stupid when jumping on things is the only way you really have of hunting anything larger than a Troodon. Especially since jumping from high places is seemingly the intended way as its rewarded with higher damage. 3. Someone on reddit said one concept art/idea was that Herrera would jump on dinos and rip away meat chunks, to me this sounds like a amazing feature for it since it would allow it to "hunt for food" without actually getting the kill. Combine the jump attack with a pounce animation, you jump on something and do damage, then you rip away a piece of meat from them and can jump off and return to a tree with your price. How cool wouldnt that be?... and it would give you a reason to jump on larger things too because atm its kinda pointless to jump a adult Cerato/Carno, no way you are winning that fight unless they are afk but with this you could turn them into food anyway!

I think it's a great option to get you into the game. Since you can climb, leap, and dive underwater it's a really good way to get a feel for the mechanics and explore the map :)

@William_Verdun although it's not a tru herbivore I'd honestly go with Beipi. It's quick, fun, versatile, and doesn't take ages to grow. I think the current herbivores either take too long to be starters or absolutely suck (dryo, pachy, hypsi). Although I will say that teno is an absolute unit once you grow it and I have a lot of fun with it
