I Was Wrong in My Last Video! - My New Take on It // GT7 (PSVR2) - In my last video I talked about dropping down driver ratings in Gran Turismo 7 and also the use of the meta car in Daily Races. Well, after dropping down to a "B" Rated driver once again, and racing for a few hours time, I have a new take on something I discussed in my last video. Of course the race you will be watching in this video was done on PSVR2 like all my races in GT7. I would love to hear what you guys think about this in the comments.

I was like that in the past. Sticking with my car BUT I discovered that driving different cars makes me a better driver in the game. I think we should just embrace the weekly changes and learn different cars.

Problem is there are so many cars to choose from, but everyone ends up using the same car in the end.

I’ve tried a lot of different cars, my favorite go to is the Ferrari 458 Italia GT3. It’s done really well for me.

I’ve done exactly the same thing this week! I tried a bunch of cars as I really didn’t like the ford gt40 from a vr2 point of view, the cockpit was horrible and through the corners the Porsche just dominated but with no opportunity to pass until the straights, the fords would just as you said eat me up… id find myself falling down through the pack, almost like a filter, filtering the Porsche’s to the back. And so i found myself also frustrated and trying different cars. So i decided to just use the ford and that’s when i began moving up in the pack instead of down. It’s a shame tho as I really enjoyed the Porsche around deep forest! But i love watching your videos and its great to see you share my exact experience! Thank you for making the videos like this which are no doubt harder to make as you humble yourself and admit your wrong but i think that’s worth so much more! Keep up the fantastic work! Unfortunately being from Australia we Dont get the opportunity to race together, but maybe one day!

Chosing the meta car to get wins is against the CAS code, that's a very competitive thing to do and it will take you to a higher driver rating. But, it also makes you evolve as a driver as you practice with different cars and slowly learn about the difference in their handling. Good job!

Man i feel u. I always use the r8. Thats the car im use to driving fast. My quali times was fast enough to start p3 or better... thru the turns i would create a big gap on any ford gt but down the straights it was impossible to stay ahead. Really sucked!

This is something worth checking,go to your pedal calibration Set it 92.5 this way your definitely getting full throttle on the straights. Other cars were always catching and passing me until I adjusted this. Worth a check.

This is absolutely true, setting your pedal upper and lower limits is very important! With your brake pedal too! I use the Logitech g pro wheel and pedal combo and in the settings allows you to set your limits! I run a 2.5% lower limit and throttle and brake, and upper at 97.5% this way if you have your foot resting on the brake it doesn’t cause dragging, and as for throttle, having the upper limit make sure you are full at all times!

I think it also depends on the skill Level. When strating with gt Sport you should always go with the car you can handle the best and try to race clean ( without penalties and offroad expeditions) which was the reason why i finshed races pretty bad. But later on it shifts more to the car/ track combination because only few mistskes were made. In Championships where you have to stick with one car this might be different, but in daily races with high skilled drivers…

Agree, in the lower levels, the car is not as important as just being consistent as most drivers won't be. As you move up, more drivers are consistent and fast, so you need to choose the right car to stay competitive at some tracks.

I always the use the Porsche RSR. Last week I gave in and tried the Genesis as I could not keep up but could not get comfortable with it. Have only been able to improve a few positions when starting in the back so maybe is time to use the Ford GT as well

I hate that there's a meta car every week, in order to compete i feel forced to drive it, if i dont, race results are poor. And why cant we have better tyre compounds for a change in the short races, almost always RH.

This race was a DR killer starting out. I was about to get to A rank. 20% more to go, and this race dropped me to the halfway point. Once I got my bearings and got used to driving the Ford GT Spec ll(you have to use this or the 911. It's just how it is), I was able to get back to the 60% point to getting to A rank. The GT is mad nostalgic if you played Gran Turismo 4, though. The body roll and handling is just like it was in GT4, but with more believable realism. My problem was I tried to hop in and race in it with only 4 or 5 total practice laps. That's what shot my DR. I think Kaz wanted us to drive either the Ford or the Porsche for a sort of "_Ford vs. Porsche_" fiasco.

I love moving down a level. i'm mainly B & C. But if I get my safety rating down, which usually happens when I get paired with safety B & C drivers even though I'm S, I will do a Race and let all the cars overtake me come in last but with clean race bonus. Safety rating goes up, Driver rating goes down. I get next race with all S ratings. The safety rating is so much more important than driver rating to me. Have you Tried LFM on Assetto Corsa yet on. I mean, yes, ford is meta best car. But i like to use my ferrari that give me advantage on the turn, i use to pick like 500 400 decims on the forst sector, and yes the ford and other car will surpass me on straight, but i have advantage on late brake and i can pick position very easily

I feel every track has it's car... I like to stick with manufacturers in the same country of the track I'm racing... If I'm in Italy I want an Italian car, if I'm in the States I'm going American.. If I'm in Asia I'm going Asian... Germany German...

I did the same exact thing this week. I set a great time for me in the Porsche and was competitive during the beginning of the week. As tine went on, i sucked it up and raced with the Ford GT, and i tell you with the controller that car is a nightmare. My quali in the porsche was close to CAS at 1.27.411 but i cannot get better than a 1.28 in the Ford. However, in the race, my consistency was more important than a fast lap and i enjoyed a few top 5's... Unfortunately the way this track is designed and the current BOP with the current cars the Ford GT makes it a one make race towards the end of the week. It'll be interesting to see what type of cars we have for catalunya in race A and Suzuka race B next week.
