I am a lurker for the most part and enjoy this channel immensely. You do positive work. We all have are moments. When one can reflect on these moments it shows great character. Thank you for your gift to share your love for the guitar. I am in my fifty’s and have picked up and put down the instrument though out my life. Your lessons have reached me though my lack of focus. Thank you for that and turning my stable of one guitar into seven. ✌️

It feels great to sincerely apologize to someone. I need to do it more often. I am part of a club where I have learned to make amends and to let go of my resentments. Just when I think I have checked everyone off my list that I may have offended or need to make amends to, I remember others that I still owe…;)

I love talking shop with you and the others on your comments page. Please keep up the lessons. On a related note, I like that some of your videos don’t give a step by step lesson and instead make me follow you and and listen to the notes. I feel like it makes me a better player.

You said it, Cid. James's lessons are great for intermediate level players like myself. I don't need to hear yet another instructor demonstrating the first position of the pentatonic scale. That level of lesson is very important for new players, but James is like, 'hey, you know your chords, know some scales, etc, here's another song you can try'. It's fantastic.

Hey Guys!! Do you ever feel like JJ was related to you, in a musical sense? Figuring stuff out off of records, piece-by-piece, grabbing information from here and there, “I don’t know what chord that is, but here’s what it looks like.” “The Pete Townsend D” etc. Some theory, some guesswork. It’s the music to be sure, but not just that. Dig?

"I'm not particularly special" ? Mate, you have brought me hours and hours and hours and joy since i found you in, what could be a decade ago. I realised very early on your music tastes, the bands and artists you like, were pretty well exactly the same as mine, here over in England. If i forget a chord i always turn to you, be it, a Jeff Lynne chord or key change, what is McCartney actually doing on an obscure b'side somewhere, a Beatles lick, whatever. Don't think of it as the hours you spent learning the songs, playing the, recording them, posting them, think of it as the hours that every person who then sees your videos then goes and spends practising what you have given freely to this world. You've been extraordinary to me. I was sad when you stopped. I enjoyed your playing, your accent :), your love of music, your company. If you ever still read comments like this, i hope you're well and happy. :)

We are fortunate to have your videos. You embody the spirit of the rock artists who don't necessarily enslave themselves to music theory, yet still produce brilliant songs. I understand the theory, yet my playing is mediocre since I am still struggling with the physical aspects of mastery. Viewing your physical domination of the guitar is inspiring, and the theory can come from a book.

I play guitar, and there are songs I just strummed years ago, that I come back and learn to play correctly. I think these people miss out that you are sharing for them, and they lack appreciation, sitting down and learning alternatives ways to play it, to... keep it from being blocked. They like me, looked up lesson, to learn it, they should be mire greatful you took the time. I learn the horns on some van morrison songs and I'd prob lose my shit if some ungrateful assh0 complained instead of appreciating, and knowing, you learn a song slowly and over time, them lack want to learn it right away and now. Thank you for a zep video I will now pick, and rewatch, and listen to find the correct sequence of notes in order that I will have to memorize, to get it sounding great. I appreciate you giving me a visual, and once they learn they need to practice listening, and hammering and pull offs, and remembering 300 notes in a sequence, they may appreciate what you have done, 2,3 years from now. Thanks again

I follow 3 channels and yours is my (arguably) my favorite. I love learning covers and most of what you put out is of immediate interest to me (especially Stones songs in Standard Tuning). I've never made any specific requests, but I have mentioned that I get EXTRA excited when you do Kinks lessons, and would love to see more of them. Not a specific song, and not a demand. Just an open request as a devoted member of your fan base. You have a fan base. An audience. As a performer we both know that respect for your audience is number 1 as a general rule (there are exceptions, of course). You've shown that today which is highly respectable and makes me appreciate you more. So, great vid J.J. w/ regards to all of your sentiments. I haven't harped on The Kinks at all, and everything that's come after that request has kept me well-nourished and never at a loss b/c I'm not seeing Kinks lessons. You go through phases and every once in a while one will pop-up. So, if you ever feel the vibe to approach their style of playing which is very unique, I look forward to it. Always watching regardless. Just keep them in mind. I mean how could anyone forget about the greatest band of all time? :) That aside, blessings to you my man. People are very quick to anger these days for very illegitimate reasons. We enjoy seeing our enemies fail and we don't even know them, or why they are our enemies in the first place. A mass emotional impulse of negativity. I say, let's rebel and "commune" w/ a sense of decency and dare I say kindness to one another. It doesn't take a lot, and it amazes me as to how much of an impact it actually has. A simple smile and a "hello" to a passing stranger has a tremendous effect b/c it feels so unusual to that person, these days. And it spreads. Kinks, or no Kinks. Keep it up J.J. Don't forget what you said today. It was important. :)

Part of what you said in this video really make me think. The fact that socials were very promising and totally backfired is a fact. The funny thing is that watching your videos contribute to me staying away and forget about Facebook and similar and learn something ways more important, useful and funny like playing guitar.

99.9% of us SO appreciate all the work that you put in to your songs and channel. I certainly think you put out these nice lessons in one video package.... I take each one as 'this is what I get to work with to try and get better.' so that's my challenge! Thank you James for your work and humility! - Ken in Hawaii

I couldn't agree more - I have learned more from your channel and others than I did after years of going to a private instructor once a week. Good work mate!!

Awesome lessons and demonstrations, totally respect and appreciate your talent and presence here on you tube. It's also uplifting that you give insight into your learning processes. Your guidance on all your lessons have many benificial aspects for students, humility is among them. Keep on rockin' and posting, and thank you for doing what you do as well as how you do it..

admirable message..its only super beginners who need you to explain every little detail/note/ chord, but once they start to understand the basics, your style of teaching is plenty detailed and gets the info to the viewer fast and i personally prefer your style of teaching vs. those who explain every chord /note as if they are talking to someone who is holding a guitar for the first time..and your commentary is always on point! much love and appreciation for your channel my friend. all the best
