its simple: first small caps crash, then everybody moves to "quality" (raising/stuffing prices), then quality is sold off. Don't move with the herd, either move upfront the herd or ignore the herd completely. If everybody moves from risk to qualtiy/safe havens, buy risk

Yes and No. Some of the risky companies will have solvency issues in current high cost of financing environment. Their low credit ratings will make their capital expenses very high and cut into operating cost. Only a selected few that have already reached the critical mass may worth investing. I think the timing for those should probably wait until Fed pivots. In the meantime, MSFT's solid balance sheet and clout among peers certainly worth a look.

What you did with JPM, I just did with SBR. Bought in around 42 a Share. Catching huge Dividends the whole time, even as it fluctuates (part of why I sold). Only one month with a Dividend under 0.60 a Share, hit 2 Months with it over 1.00 a Share, everything else was between .60 and .80 a Share a Month. So it made money both on Growth and on Dividends. But that won't last forever, and Unrealized Gains are nothing. So I took the HUGE WIN, and rolled it into 4 other Stocks to balance out my Portfolio. I also got out of a small holding of LAND as well. I'd rather the consistent Dividends, and the potential Growth in these 4 Stocks where SBR is the highest it's ever been right now (so odds are it's not going much higher, and someday it comes back down).

There's a fine line between "getting scared" and "derisking". You'll never be able to 100% predict the future, but if you're seeing a risk and you have better alternatives, by all means get out of a position. The fact that the worst case scenario didn't happen doesn't make the original decision a mistake.

V & MA have competitive and regulatory threats, but their position is as close to rock solid as you can get. The credit card duoply is even stronger than the GOOG/META online advertising duopoly IMO, and they've certainly faced far less media and regulatory scrutiny recently. They also represent a built in inflation hedge in the sense that as prices rise, spending will rise, and their fee collections will rise proportionally. Overall, V is my third favourite stock after COST & MSFT. I chose it over MA for higher yield, and because I believe MA will not produce enough excess growth over V to justify its valuation premium. Good to see your back in as well!

I’m a fan of your videos, but I’m not sure I understand how you define your “moats.” Estée Lauder has a strong moat, but Church & Dwight doesn’t? Texas Roadhouse has a strong moat, but Target doesn’t? In your words not long ago, Target is “just another retailer.” Isn’t Texas Roadhouse just another restaurant? And why are makeup and perfume a strong moat, but deodorant and cleaning products aren’t? I guess I don’t totally understand the cyclicality argument either, where you don’t like cyclical companies but are buying railroads.

Hi Joseph peasantry aside. Yes we all received your subliminal message about Tesla. Do you see a path where all stocks go back to pre pandemic level but not all at the same time? Apple and Microsoft included. Any concern about Amazon borrowing 8 billion for next year? This does not look good for the overall market.

Glad to see you back in MA. I didn't agree with you when you sold out of V & MA, credit cards still have lots of room to grow, and most of the new pay apps like Apple pay use V or MA in the backend. I've never owned MA, but I've got around 200 shares of V, and at these prices I'd like to buy more. Also I definitely agree with you that a lot of retailers are likely to go bankrupt over the next decade. Companies like Macy's and JCPenny's have net negative brand value for me.

Regarding the values of your JPM sell you bought your JPM stocks at around $50 (adding dividends to price)? When did that happen? JPM payed a dividend total of $23,46 from 2012 till today so at what prices did you bought JPM to have a 84% gain? I thought you started your depot around 2018. at that time JPM stocks were around $95. So can you please explain these numbers?

I see the signs that say they accept google pay and cashapp but have not seen anyone use their phone.
