Aside from the humbucker that is very similar to my 68 heavy relic custom shop, it's burgundy mist metallic. It is also the single most resonant guitar I've ever played in my life. It's louder acoustically than my 335. Notes almost literally jump off the fretboard. Very similar to the Friedman's I've played. Plugged in its all manner of gloriousness.

I knew it was a pink strat! Why you say you are not into strats? Don’t you still have the white with the tortoise guard one? And why say you aren’t into distressed guitars? Your teles are beaten to death, aren’t those distressed? Just saying... Really nice instrument by the way, and awesome playing as usual. This is definitely one of my favourite channel on the guitar KZbin community.
@JayLeonardJ4 жыл бұрын
I do love my old Strat, but I've always been way more of a Tele guy :) I've never been much a distressed guy, cause sometimes the pre-done wear doesn't match the way I play; since my guitars have been distressed naturally from my playing, all those dings make sense, haha.
@giorgiocimoli10254 жыл бұрын
JayLeonardJ I totally agree with you about the fake distressing job, I don’t favour it either, because I believe that what makes an instrument truly yours are mostly the ding, the marks, the scuffs, the lines and the love you put into it; every sign has a story behind it, and that’s the way the guitar grows up and gets old with you, sort of. For instance: I got a 2005 Gibson R7 that I bought new and after many years of use, the way I use it, the binding where my arm sits has started to gently roll and also the nitro finish in that area has started to fade away exposing a bit of the maple cap underneath, it feels so comfortable and I’m so proud of it that I don’t see it as a damage because it was literally my interaction with the music that made it, and that makes so much sense on a music instrument. At least, that’s what I think. By the way, you got a nice new logo, the Italian flag colour were intentional or they just came by accident? Thanks

It’s hard to take you seriously when you’re opening a box with a guitar you don’t like, but now you love it so so much before you opened it, predominately because it was given to you by someone who would like further advertising for their own gear (no offence Friedman). It seems to be the way of KZbin demo’s now, a huge platform for companies peddling their wears through a popular personality to try and steer the immature populace to the latest must have. I’m sure that Friedman gear is definitely of a higher class than most, but it makes me sick when people do a less than honest review because of a seeming obligation - I’m sure you know what I mean!
@travlehman4 жыл бұрын
I agree with some of what you're saying... It's hard to find good quality reviews from people who aren't just paid to do the review. But to your second point, he played an identical guitar at NAMM so I assume that's what he means by he didn't think he liked it but did before the box was even opened.
@dannyharvey73984 жыл бұрын
Trav 👍 You summed it up better than I did. I think I allowed frustration to dictate how I responded. Just tired of biased clips. If I wanted to watch an advertisement I’d look elsewhere.
@JayLeonardJ4 жыл бұрын
Trav is right, the title comes from the fact that I dismissed this model until I played it at NAMM. I was so surprised by it and loved it so much, I hounded the Friedman rep until he sent one my way. My enthusiasm is definitely genuine, haha. However, if you are interested in reviews, check out my Patreon account where I review every piece of gear I demo on KZbin (including this one) 👍

Is it safe? When I get a new guitar, I want to know about the magnetic strength and DC resistance of the pickup, measure the action, check fret buz, the nut clearance, what the bridge is made of, and what type. Weigh it. In short, everything that is not immediately obvious. Wait, this is a $3,000 guitar? Why would anyone spend $3,000 on a guitar? feel free to delete this comment if you want.

@@BeefNEggs057 the whole point of going to KZbin videos is to supposedly find out what the guitar is like before purchasing and playing it. And the only thing that really matters is the specifications. And this is why most KZbin videos have no specifications. They tell you things like you have two humbucker pickups or what color the pickguard is, or they will look around and spend a great deal of trying trying to find blemishes on a finish. And this is largely due to the fact that everything of value costs something, and that therefore no free information is valuable.
