When you give knives to a friend you also give a coin, because you don't want the gift to severe the friendship. The coins are supposed to add to the gift and show the gift of knives as a friendship gift, not one of cruelty..lol. Yes! When I gave my husband a knife he immediately pulled money out and said as he was handling it to me. “Baby you never buy me a knife again because I don’t want anything to happen to us.” I laughed and he told me why and he was really serious!!

Here's the story behind it... Gift a Knife: Include a Penny For reasons historians have not reached a consensus on, somewhere along the line - way back in the line, hundreds (maybe thousands) of years ago - people came to believe that giving a knife as a gift meant bad luck for the relationship. In another words, the knife would metaphorically “cut” the ties that bind two people. This affect is even worse if the recipient is your significant other - some believe the love will soon end after the knife is given as a gift or that a knife as a wedding gift will severe the bonds of marriage. No one wants a gift like that! That’s why, long before rationality and science started replacing superstition, a tradition began in which those who gift a knife also attach a coin to the blade or include it with the gift. Even a penny will do. The receiver of the knife then gives the penny to the gift-giver, thus “paying” them for the knife and keeping the relationship intact.

Those vintage dresses are brands I used to buy for my kids she’s now 28 but a few of those will date back to late 80’s mostly early 90’s, they were quite expensive brands as well. The Bryan is probably from the mid to late 80’s, great finds! I used to think those styles were super cute! My how times have changed!

The worst is when things are not priced AND you can't even figure out who is running the sale to ask. Or when you ask and they can't even come up with a price to give you. "Oh, I'll decide when you're done looking." I don't want to waste time looking if the prices are possibly going to be crazy high. Luckily in my area the vast majority of people price things.

LOL....You say hideous I say heavenly (when my daughter was small) with a little red head with cream frilly socks, brown or black patent leather shoes, a burgundy ribbon barrette (fine thin hair), a cloth bracelet (cornflower yellow) with a tatted flower sewn on.
