One time I used that generic "root improvement" powder on crappy Venus flytrap from store, and I sht you not, that thing worked... well I mean it was dead few months later due to sun burns and overall crappy quality, but it had x2 more roots than the same plant I bought for the same store.

@@TheCarnivoreConnection That comment remind me of one guy that said "plant cant go dry if it have too much water!" Well.... it can and plants do go dry/dead if you give them too much water... As for my venus trap plant, it was weak, had just few flimsy leaves that, probably never saw full sun and Im in place where sun hit hard as hell and I just slapped it in garden without thinking about it so it it get burned, it started to get nice roots but as it was "low quality" weak plant it just could not grow properly. Yeah its simple as that.

I rescued a flytrap from the same company. It also has that weird not-quite-sphagnum stuff. I'm just hoping it will survive till dormancy so I can repot it, because I don't think it would survive repotting now.

i got multiple of them in one pot for £8.99 at morrisons, they looked pretty bad but when they got to see sun for the first time they took off :)
