Millennials and Gen Z’rs know of Count Orlock because SpongeBob used him for a joke at the end of the Hash Slinging Slasher episode.

The narrator is meant to be a parody of Jacque Costaeu, known for his famous documentaries about the ocean from the late 1940s to early 1970s(he was basically the David Attenborough and Steve Irwin in one of his day)

It's been a long time since I've watched these as a kid and I never really rewatched them. Also I'm younger than original Spongebob so in my mind maybe I didn't watch as much of the first season. It was great watching this with you and realizing that I remembered every single episode lol. Thank you for this Alicia! Also Spongebob starts strong! So Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy were played by Ernest Borgnine and Tim Conway; and the two of them are probably best known for playing the comedic duo Lt. Commander Quintin McHale and Ensign Charles Parker on the old sitcom show "McHales Navy" (which I recommend you give a watch) set in WWII in the Pacific Theater. In that show, Conway and Borgnine's roles were reversed; where Conway was the ditzy and incompetent but lovable Ensign Parker, while Borgnine played the lazy but competent PT Boat Skipper. Both would play various other roles, with Conway mainly focusing on comedy. Borgnine (who was also a WWII veteran from the Battle of the Atlantic) would play a variety of roles; his best known ones being: Sgt. Kat, the fatherly figure to the various soldiers in his squad from the movie "All Quiet on the Western Front (1979)"; Major General Sam Worden in "The Dirty Dozen"; "The Poseidon Adventure (1972)"; and "Escape from New York." Both would play Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy until Borgnines death in 2012; at which point the characters were retired out of respect. Conway reportedly remarked that Ernest absolutely loved his role of Mermaid Man, and was happy that he was able to continue entertaining people even into his old age. Conway would pass away in 2019.

I’ve been a SpongeBob fan since I was a kid when I grew up watching a tv show and movies since the tv show was 25 years and including the movie in 20 years and I💕SpongeBob a lot but SpongeBob have been one of my favourite childhood movies and tv shows ever but SpongeBob was played by Tom Kenny, Patrick was played by Bill Faggerbakke, Squidward was played by Roger Bumpass, Mr. Krabs was played by Clancy Brown, and so many cast members of SpongeBob SquarePants playing all the characters and including The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie with David Hasselhoff as himself but David Hasselhoff done of Baywatch and Knight Rider from the 80s but it was so cool ever🥰💕.
