Between 17 and 22 I feel like I learned the most about what it really means to show up for yourself and be an adult. It's more difficult than you think and I've mostly learned my lessons the hard way. Trust your gut, surround yourself with people who love you and you can trust. Find a support system and contact them when you need someone. If you feel like you're bothering them, you're not, they want to help. If you can, work somewhere you enjoy to be. If you can't, be proud of your hard work and hype your coworkers up. Try to stay positive in all situations. And DRINK your water. 💚
@nicanproud2 жыл бұрын
As a 26 year old, I learned tons betwen 17 and 22. But there's so much growth that comes in your twenties and into your 30s. I can't wait until I'm 30. I don't say this to say you're wrong or discredit your comment. I had no idea who I has at 22. So I don't want any anxious mofos like me seeing that time frame and being scared. Take the time you need to show up for yourself, but do your best to do a little bit every day until it becomes a habit. Honesty and bravery is a hell of a drug, and the best kind. Once you start, its hard to stop.

I was 7 when Cadet Kelly came out and I vaguely remember watching it as a kid. I misremembered the big drama with her dad at the end. I also attended a DoD elementary school (naval academy primary school) since my mom was a civilian employee with the USNA and her boss' boss (a captain) offered to help get me into the DoD elementary school. A lot of things back then felt very patriotic and pro-military back in the early 2000s (i.e., because of 9/11 when I was 6 years old). I grew up watching MASH, JAG, and NCIS. In high school, I wanted to be a civilian intelligence analyst working at the agency in Langley. In senior year high school, I interned at Ft Meade as a secret squirrel, but then was stupid and left to go to a private college in Washington DC thinking the prestige would be better when in reality I should have staid at Ft Meade and gone to school at a local college..... but that's that and in past few years since I graduated college with my BA International Relations, I tried going to grad school to be a therapist (wasn't for me), and now I'm doing another career switch again and just started working as an IT contractor.
