The Bayern dominance within the past eleven years is an undeniable reason for the increasing boredom of the Bundesliga. But I also think there are way too many clubs without any own character and without really passionate supporters, mostly playing in soulless so-called modern stadiums which nearly all look the same. Hoffenheim, Augsburg, Wolfsburg, and, obviously, the Red Bull franchise of Leipzig even representing Germany in the Champions League...from my perspective, even Mainz 05 is not the same club anymore since they left the Bruchwegstadion. Yes, all the executives and the staff of these clubs may do a great job instead of those of the fallen giants such as Schalke, Hamburg or even Kaiserslautern, but the Bundesliga just isn't the same anymore since the past decade and without iconic clubs such as the latter...just my two cents. If you're still happy with today's Bundesliga, it's not my intention to badmouth it. It just doesn't appeal to grand emotions anymore from my point of view.

Schalke is the first Bundesliga team I know of. Their amazing UCL run in 2011 and how they're able to create great talents. It's so sad how this team has fallen since COVID. Even though I don't really follow Bundesliga 2 I still hope Schalke will be back stronger for Bundesliga.

With that money he _"poached"_ in former East Germany (in case of Berbatov Eastern Europe) and South America. If the briefcase was empty, Bayer gave him a new one. Ballack, Zé Roberto, Kirsten and Emerson for example. Which resulted in, I think, four times runner-ups in the Bundesliga, once in the DFB-Pokal and once in the Champions League. Players like Ballack, Schneider, Ramelow or Neuville were really tragic figures in 2002. After making a runner-up treble in all club competitions. Gaining the nickname _"Vizekuse"_ in Germany and _"Neverkusen"_ internationally. They went on to lose the World Cup final against Brazil on top. I don't know how I would/could go on after this. I think you have to say to yourself that it's just a game, you're lucky enough to make your money with. That's probably the only way to mentally survive such a season of being quadruple runner-ups.

Both clubs don't fall under the 50+1 rule, here in Germany. 51% of the professional football team have to be owned by the club _(and its members) itself._ So potential investors can buy only 49%. But Leverkusen is owned 100% by Bayer and Wolfsburg to 100% by Volkswagen. Because of some old rules, which exclude them from the 50+1 rule. Both clubs were actually founded by the companies, as teams for the employees to play football.

By the way, as a German, I think that the clubs from former GDR (East Germany) such as Dynamo Dresden, Hansa Rostock or FC Magdeburg share some similarities with supporters in Poland...the incredible noise, the supporters all(!) wearing the same colours on special occasions etc.

From my point of view, Boro probably has the most underrated fans all across England. The atmosphere in the EFL, especially in the Championship, is so intriguing compared to the Premier League. And the EFL still has plenty of these charming classic British stadiums to offer, many of them with stands covered by these lovely classic gable roofs. The spirit of Archibald Leitch, so to say. Coming from a German who has a soft spot for Leeds Utd :D

Loved following Schalke during that 2011-2013 period especially. Always remember when they played HJK and signed Teemu Pukki after that performance by Finnish Champions in Helsinki. That attack and midfield including Afellay, Draxler, Farfán, Holtby, Huntelaar, Jurado, Michel Bastos, Raúl and so on was exciting to watch while competing for those Champions League places pretty consistently. Hopefully we'll see them back in Bundesliga some day in future even though it most likely won't be anytime soon.

Fair comment. I visited S04 - Magdeburg earlier in the season. That was really amazing. I was pretty disappointed with the atmosphere against HSV. It felt off from the beginning. It never got going, sadly. Coming back for the Pauli game. Let's hope it'll be better then.
