Valentino as a character is so unredeemable that the fandom has the right to hate him for the right reasons and rightfully so, he tortures Angel Dust and pretty much any victim he has a contract with by making them work for many hours on these sex films (in Angel’s case 12-16 hours a day) and Joel Perez does a good job voicing Valentino who can act sarcastic and funny in some scenes, but downright abusive and manipulative during his scenes with Angel. However, I think it’s important to separate fiction from reality as after fans watched the Episode and Valentino’s introduction, they started attacking or better yet harassing on Val’s voice actor, Joel Perez and even the cosplayers cosplaying as Valentino at various conventions which honestly disgusts me. It’s fine to hate and dislike a character like Valentino, but Joel and the cosplayers don’t deserve those death threats and hatred. Even I went to a convention in Houston last month and saw 3-4 people cosplaying as Valentino and so far from what I saw during my time at the event, none of the cosplayers got harassed and attacked.

@farrosimahdy-kf2ng Yeah iox and Ayy LMAO did videos on that in full detail, but long story short, fans started tagging and posting hate messages and tweets towards Joel Perez, harassing him to the point he made post on Twitter (X) to stop tagging him and later made an Instagram story regarding the Valentino situation, and I’m grateful he stood up and stand his ground. Their literally is no reason for *ANYONE* to send death threats and hatred towards an actor/voice actor via social media or in person that they voice or portray a villain that is unredeemable, vile and evil and meant to be hated (e.g. Valentino, Umbridge, Captain Vidal (Pan’s Labyrinth), Joffrey (Game of Thrones), Pre Vizsla, etc.) or on a character they don’t like (e.g. Ahmed Best as Jar Jar Binks; Kellie Marie Tran as Rose Tico). It’s perfectly okay to not like and hate a character the actor/actress portrayed but it’s not right go around harassing and sending hatred to the actor/actress cause they are actors playing a character and on top of that, the actors are literally a complete opposite of the vile character they portray in a show/film, so it’s important to separate fiction and reality and dropped the hatred.

Let’s just say besides Zestial, and another overlord that’s coming up (not spoiling since Rukiya has yet to reach it) I really love Carmilla Carmine as a overlord and as character, considering she protected her daughters from the Extermination Angels and killed one during the last extermination, along with the fact she defended Zestial when Velvette trash talked back at him during the Overlord meeting. Finally let’s mention that Carmilla is voiced by Daphne Rubin Vega who not only was she the original Mimi from _RENT_ but also was in the film _Into the Heights_ as Daniela and interestingly enough, Stephanie Beatriz, who voiced Vaggie also was in _Into the Heights_ and both of them perform in the song "Carnaval de Barrio" (The song that goes "But I always say l'm from queens"). Not to mention in a BuzzFeed interview, Stephanie mentioned that Daphne Rubin Vega was her "crush." Finally Velvette is voiced by Lilli Cooper who played Sandy Cheeks in _SpongeBob SquarePants: The Musical_ but also was one of the cast replacements for Elphaba in _Wicked_ so we have two Elphabas in _Hazbin Hotel_ the other being Jessica Vosk (Lute).

19:00 Angel's dance is him retreating into his mind during his workday. He mentally checks out/disassociates like he says in the song, and he turns the positions he's being forced into doing, into a dance to help himself cope with the awful situation he's in. The screens in the background show parts of what's really happening to Angel, and whenever he sees or is touched by Val, the illusion breaks and he's dragged back to reality. The clip didn't show it, but Angel was tricked by Val (just like everyone else who works for him.) Angel's real name is Anthony and he was an Italian-American mobster in the mafia before he died of an OD on the drug he's named after, in 1947. In life, he likely wanted to be a movie star, and never got to be one and also likely wasn't accepted as gay by his family. When he entered Hell, he likely met Val who told him he could be a film star and get to freely live his sexuality in the adult film industry, while also wooing him because it's implied Val and Angel's relationship started romantically... or so Angel thought. Once Val got Angel to sign his soul over to him, Angel was trapped in this situation with him. He lived in the studio at the time so he would have nowhere else to go if he left, until he met Charlie and she offered him a room at the Hotel. Angel's pet pig, Fat Nuggets, was a gift to him from Val, and Val has kidnapped Nuggets and used him as a manipulation tool to get Angel to do whatever he wants. Angel loves his pet piggie dearly and will do anything to protect him.

Someone described Zestial as being like 'the kindly grandfather who committed war crimes and is more that willing and able to defend himself if necessary'. Since then I keep half picturing him as a grandfather who teaches his grandchildren how to shoot from a variety of types of guns and teaches them about various types of poisons and acids (even showing how long it takes an acid to work through a metal or even poisons effects on bugs under a microscope), telling them stories about his war crimes and then taking them out for ice cream and a movie.

I get the joke, however he's a human soul and not a deer soul. Eating venison as a person (even if you're a deer demon) technically doesn't count as cannibalism... On the other hand, it's been implied that he was a cannibal in life aside from being a serial killer. Whether that's true or not is debated and I'm not gonna nail any theories down so I don't start an argument. He WAS shot by a hunter who mistook him for a deer in the woods while Alastor was trying to hide a body of his latest victim, and the hunter's dogs were the ones who finished him by mauling. That's also why he canonically hates dogs.

He said Alastor was written by Vivziepop and her friend Faustisse. Faustisse had suggested Alastor would be a cannibal, but that Viv wrote that part out of his backstory when Faustisse was no longer working with her on Hazbin. This was also around the time Angel Dust was going to be in a relationship with Vaggie as a couple, but obviously we've taken a WAY different direction to that. Angel is gay and meant to be with Husk who is Pan; Vaggie is lesbian and is the girlfriend of Charlie, who is Bi. Niffty is the only straight member of the Hazbin residents lol. Mimzy was originally written to have a (one-sided?) crush on Alastor, but he's either Ace or Aroace.

(Notice how he takes the cigarette from Angel at 18:49 and the smoke is gray, but when he blows smoke from the same cigarette in Angel's face it's red.) His cigarette smoke and the Love Potion that Velvette makes for the Vees to sell are also all made from/contain Val's saliva pheromones. He's a good villain. I like him, too. People are just hating him because Angel is fan favourite (whom I love dearly, too). Alastor is a serial killer who tortures and cannibalises people which is arguably worse, but no one has a problem with that because he's one of the main cast and one of the "good guys".

@@Silveirias THANK YOU! MY EXACT ARGUMENT EVERY TIME. Everyone is in hell, they’re all terrible people. Some worse than others, but terrible nonetheless. What Valentino does is wrong and horrible, but I don’t like him because of his actions, I like his character! Literally just how people also like Alastor. They don’t support cannibalism nor killing, but they like him for his character. Sometimes the fandom doesn’t make sense. The double standards are crazy 😭😭
