mr balotelli, all jokes aside, tbf, blackface was never a huge bad thing in europe, especially pre 2020, like zwarte piet was still a tradition that so many people participate and the first time people have a real movement against it was in 2019. And so many actual footballer who grew up with huge black community who also did blackface to cosplay nba players (griezmann for example). Im not saying it's not wrong, but the perception about blackface was very very different in europe compares to the US

100% he doesn't know what Minstrel Shows were and the larger issue that came with Blackface which was making literal slaves look like they were happy/grateful (ik disgusting) for their situation otherwise "they'd still be stuck in Africa, how horrible.." It was White Americans literally just using culture for monetary reasons and it was so hated/not seen as 'an art form' or a piece of 'theatre' by the African-American community the insane part to me ISN'T people like Joe who are careless/on KZbin its more the people like Dan Ackroyd, Gene Wilder, Jimmy Kimmel and Fallon (MULTPILE times) etc who are massive stars yet still make such obvious mistakes, and having a BUNCH of yes men saying "yeah man Blackface is funny" to reinforce that it'll go over well.. Joe knew none of that, it was just him and the guy he did 'Blackface' in front of was KSI, who himself has said very stupid things and was ofc part African so Joe was getting an actual friend of colour and he didn't say "maybe dont wear the black makeup"

I wouldn't be so sure about that. The BBC screened the Black and White Minstrel show during the 70s. People, at least in the UK were definitely aware of it. That being said, would an early twenties Joe Weller know how bad it was? Maybe not, but I would assume that he was at least marginally aware of its offensiveness.

@@sheaz7553 considering he was born in the 90s, I dont think there would be any reason outside of maybe school that he would know about Minstrels. the BBC got a lot of backlash for that and they tried to hide it and pretend it never happened I dont see why Joe would know its bad when again, KSI reposted the video, liked it, they became friends etc. He was around people like Tobi, KSI, Vik (maybe not so much) and none of them ever checked him/had any problems with him so Joe doing it MULTIPLE times, when no one is saying no or its wrong is kinda understandable. I genuinely don't think he knew any better

I hope Caanths shows Stanz that Elliot patched things up with Joe and now he seems like he's genuinely enjoying going to the Amazon and eating bloody worms and what not and having experiences with a Thai girl that he actually kinda caught feelings for its very cute but also just funny Joe is wild inside and out I also think I remember him saying that he is genetically Depressed, like him and his moms side all have a serotonin deficiency but he brought it up once in a deleted video when he was also dealing with a lot of body issues like a full body rash, and just general body dysmorphia. There are a lot of small things that on top of him being very cartoonish, you genuinely want to see him do well, he's gone through a lot and KZbin came very close to chewing him up and spitting him right back out but he's made things work he's genuinely just been working hard on being happy in his own skin and I think that's something we can all relate to/resonate with
