@@micahscott3895 i agree she definitely grew as a person but like…she still left all her problems for her son to deal with leaving him severely traumatized w/ obvious PTSD. i get there wasn’t much she could do, but there were still some things she could’ve and should’ve done if she actually changed. like spinel totally would’ve joined the crystal gems if rose just explained everything to her (tho she probablg would’ve joined more for rose than for the cause).

@@edileox7082 but she never expected her problems to come back because there wasn't a trace of homeworld for 6000 years the only problem she wanted steven to deal with was bismuth because she left bismuth in lion along with the tape she made for steven

@@micahscott3895 ngl she still should’ve anticipated something. and ur right i totally forgot abt bismuth. steven literally had flashbacks with bismuth in them, who rose bubbled under the belief that she “couldn’t be reasoned with”. with her character growth, came supposed wisdom, which i feel she just didn’t have. 6000 years isnt as much to gems as it is to us as well. she just stayed close minded untill the end, just in a new and different way. she believed gems were incapable of change, and that all gems who disagreed with her or even mildly annoyed her were beyond reason, even though she herself experienced the ability to change. i just find it all very strange, especially that her 14 year old son had more emotional maturity than herself, who was thousands if not hundreds of thousands years old.

As far as I know, there is no magical property of the duct tape. Also, you probably already know this, but they weren't trying to say Lapis was a corrupted gem. Just a homeworld gem. It's the monsters they fight that are corrupted gems. Pearl and Lapis's actions are their own; not influenced by anything. Also centipedle was just reacting to Garnets gloves since they are a weapon and they got scared.
