For me I just refuse to believe Sally would have the balls to face and kill leatherface after years. Not just because she spent several years inside a mental institution (and in the 3rd movie it’s revealed that Sally died in private health care facility in 1977)… but bc in the first movie her character wasn’t all that brave. Seeing as this is a direct sequel to only the First Movie we don’t really know what Sally did in the years since her encounter with Leatherface. I mean she was only a teenager/Young Adult in the original and people can change a lot especially when they’ve experienced something traumatic

so that I don't have to keep repeating this since y'all wanna twist my words, the things I'm saying have nothing to do with what I would do in this situation, or about "what if a gun was the only weapon she had". my problem is the fact that the writers of this movie used gun trauma as a shitty character arc to begin with. my problem is Lila's whole character development. as someone with gun trauma, I find it incredibly upsetting that her whole arc is "getting over" her fear of guns. there are so many other weapons that they could have worked in there for her to use, but putting the idea out that the best way to be strong and get over our trauma is by defending ourselves with the same weapon is offensive.

This movie is honestly decent which is a feat in itself cause this franchise has a bunch of shit movies. I’m not a fan of this franchise in general but like the best ones are obviously the original, the 2003 remake, and the beginning. This movie was a decent time I honestly didn’t care for any character the kills were really good and leatherface was pretty scary but for some reason was really smart but okay whatever it’s a decent time I’ve seen worse. The best kill is hands down the first cop I was like oof he got his arm snapped then gets stabbed with his bones like that’s creative and my favorite sequence is the buss massacre. Honestly the only one I’ve never seen more than once was the original it’s so uncomfortable not exactly a movie with much level of rewatch like it’s not a fun time it’s dark and horrifying which is good but lord.

at first I thought the ending scene was a dream sequence or something lmao it seemed too good to be true 💀 them driving off into the sunset would've been the worst ending possible lol anyway, I also do not care about any character development or anything when it comes to slashers, but what this movie missed was... the setting I guess? the 2003 one used to be one of my faves because the idea of a house in the middle of nowhere creeped me tf out. here they had a whole ghost town with many spots to hide in and several cars that could get them out of there at any point in time... the whole movie just lacked the creepy "middle of nowhere" atmosphere. I did like the car crash in the field scene, but it really fell flat after that for me

As someone not into horror (only can watch through your vids cuz I die laughing-no pun intended) or knowing the arguments against this movie, I feel like the pushback might be whatever weird social commentary they’re trying to make, about Gen Z…like the black guy’s comment about “late stage capitalism” and the whole mass shooting character arch. Also how everyone pulled out their phone on the bus? Without watching it fully, even those snippets were like 🙄. I feel like a bitter Gen X wrote the script lol.

Two things before I enjoy your reaction: 1) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 is arguably best of all the Texas Chainsaw movies. (ChopTop ❤️) 2) This was a great slasher movie. It was a terrible Texas Chainsaw movie. And it started out so strong, I had high hopes. Now I wanna see Zzavid jump and yell “Oh Dios”!

I’m telling you I was raised with a variety of horror but I always gravitated towards the campy slasher gorefest. So I never understood when people tried to dismiss it or put it down. Like there’s room for both. But don’t worry luv, it’s definitely on my list to watch so stay tuned for that

I love The Witch. I understand the trailer not doing it justice but it's beautiful and haunting in different way from the usual slow-burn atmosphere films out there. It's definitely worth watching! 💕
