Wow so crazy. All the stuff at the police academy was shot at my college. The actors were really nice and took pictures with us and signed stuff between takes. It was crazy watching it be filmed then seeing it on the big screen. Great movie!!!

To be fair, I think the majority of people have no idea it's a remake. My issue is it's basically a shot for shot remake, there really isn't many changes even shot construction is similar. Infernal Affairs deserves so much more respect.

There is a nice detail in this film, that if a character is shown onscreen with an X (scaffolding, shadows, paint) somewhere in the same shot, they were going to die at some point in the film.

Really good movie. I was actually working as a movie theater protectionist when this came out. Still have the giant poster for it that we had hanging in the lobby (though it's too large to comfortably hang in a normal sized room, lol)

I love this fucking movie. But there's always been a thing that bugs me about the final scene, when Dignam kills Sullivan. Obviously he has his feet wrapped, wearing overalls and gloves, but his hair is out? Obviously they're implying that a cop would be the best at being able to commit a murder and escape. But why go to the trouble of hiding your dna and not wear a shower cap or balaclava Edit: because hollywood, because creative license, because nobody wants the last scene of a classic movie to contain Marky Mark in a shower cap. But its a thorn in my side nonetheless.

Most writers and directors would try to up the tension by withholding information on the moles and double agents. Scorsese makes that information known early on and lets the characters' knowledge and proximity dictate the tension. Masterclass.

Everyone killed it in their roles. Scorsese is a genius and gave us another great. You should check out The Big Hit. It’s one of Mark Wahlberg’s earlier movies. It also has Lou Diamond Phillips and they play hit men.

I must say, I LOVE transformers, I grew up with the Bay movies and they are my favourite version of transformers. Even the 5th one, which I will admit, is not a good movie, I still enjoy the hell out of, I love them all tbh. Have you seen the BBC series, Sherlock, a very modern version of Sherlock Holmes? Agatha Christie movies are usually good, too. Peter Falk on the old, Columbo, you'd have loved -- he was a police detective known for cornering his subjects into giving themselves away. Yeah, I like a good thick plot, too.

Everybody usually puts "The Godfather" parts 1 and 2, "Goodfellas," or "Scarface" as the greatest crime films ever made, but for me, my top 2 are this film and "Heat." I adore the Godfather films as well as "Goodfellas," I just think "The Departed" and "Heat" are better despite the fact most people would disagree with me on that. "Scarface" on the other hand - is one of the most overrated films I've ever watched, if i had to rate it: it'd be a meh - at best. Great reaction
