The "rat tail" of Obi Wan shows that he is a padawan learner, an apprentice, not a Jedi Knight yet. The final fight, sounding "Duel of the fates", it´s one of the best in the franchise for me. Legendary.

30:44 - Actually Anakin did use the Force. The Force isn't just physical pushing and pulling objects; it's also telepathy and being able to anticipate the near future. Qui Gon tells Anakin's mother earlier that "He can see things before they happen". This is also why Jedi can easily deflect blaster shots with their lightsabers.

Natalie Portman played Queen Padme Amidala and Keira Knightley played her decoy. Both were quite young here, but Natalie, at this time, was more known as actress.

Natalie Portman was Queen Padme Amidala. She used a decoy double so she could go in disguise as the Queens handmaiden to walk amongst her people in interact without outsiders. The Queens double was played by Kira Knightly in one of her first roles. Also, on Naboo, the position of Queen was an elected position.

13:57 he actually introduced Darth Maul but you were too busy asking who it was to listen to what Darth Sideous was saying. Anakin was born into slavery so he knows nothing else, Shmi was also probably born into slavery. 19:37 the whole planet is a city. 20:17 the Queen of the Naboo has absolutely no power on Tattooine. She can do nothing just like the Jedi and the Republic. 21:40 both Qui Gon and Obi Wan know Padme is the queen, later when she makes the reveal to the Gungans they don't react unlike Jar Jar and Anakin. Qui Gon doesn't even look at her. 24:37 there IS NO emporer at this point, there is only a Chancellor, the Senate, the Jedi Council and a hooded figure called "my Lord" who is Darth Sideous and might be a character you see without the hood at moments, eventually you will figure out who it is. Maybe, it was hinted at in this movie. Anakin can't use the Force like that, he has no training, he just has quick reflexes. He has to be trained to use it first. 29:40 that's exactly what those engines are supposed to sound like, pretty sure they used the sound of a locomotive for Sebulba's pod racer engines, that's what they sound like.

This movie is very nostalgic for me, it's actually the only SW movie I've ever seen in theaters. Sadly, Jar Jar got alot of hate from fans. Those "fans" decided to direct that hate towards the actor who played him, Ahmed Best. They bullied, harassed, and threatened him so much he contemplated taking his own life. Thankfully, he stayed strong and pushed through. I've never understood why people hated Jar Jar so viciously or why anyone thought treating the actor like that is even remotely anywhere near ok or acceptable.

THIS movie was HUGE HIT in 1999. People waited 15 years for this. MY KIDS loved it and not adults are big star wars fans. They Loved Jar Jar!! He was made for Kids the George lucas said the movies are made for 12 year old NOT 45 year old reliving their own childhood from 80’s

The end of the fight between Qui Gon, Obi Wan and Darth Maul shows the difference between Sith and Jedi very well. When the laser partitions separated Qui Gon and Maul from each other, the Jedi began to meditate, calming down, and the Sith, on the contrary, walked in a rage like a tiger in a cage, filling himself with emotions. Fun trivia from SW comics: no they can't use lightsabers underwater. There are however some Jedi who modified theirs to work underwater (an example being "Kit Fisto", you can google him, basically a fishman alien xd) c:

Sadly, Jake Lloyd, the actor who portrayed young Anakin Skywalker, was bullied and received a lot of hate for his role in this movie. I really loved his performance personally and am disturbed by adults who would bully a child, but that's just one example of how "toxic fandom" pervades the franchise.

So, the thing about Anakin not having a father... it's a short story about this. First, you need to know that the emperor...that is emperor Palpatine (also known as Darth Sidious) had a master at one time called Darth Plagueis. Darth Plagueis was really powerful and using the Force he was able to cheat death and create life. Now, the Force itself, because it is sort of a living thing...sort of... saw what Darth Plagueis was doing with the Force...so in an attempt to "balance" things, the Force created a life of it's own. It created Anakin. I won't get into much more on that topic because of potential minor spoilers! So... yes, Anakin had no father!

"He will bring balance to The Force". I mean, at the beginning of Episode IV, there were 2 Sith (The Emperor and Darth Vader) and 2 Jedi (Yoda and Obi-Wan), so he DID bring balance.

The red things closing were some type of energy generators that created force fields so they couldn't get through them. They had to wait till they opened again to resume fighting. Love how you call light sabers laser tag😂

1. Of the prequels I like this one the best, mostly for the POD race and the underwater sequences, 2. Jar Jar is mostly comic relief since we don't have C3PO 3. Liam Neeson was very busy with various productions at the time and was in huge demand and agreed to do this episode because Qui-Gon Jinn dies, and he won't be held to do more. 4. Divine conception? 5. It's easy to know why this one didn't start the series because of the lack of CGI back in 1977.

yes, the gungans speak strange: they don't trust the humans on the surface, so they don't interact much with them, so they know their language on a very basic level, that's why they speak in a strange way--like anyone learning a new language, it takes time. About the store owner and the force, old Obi-Wan tells Luke in episode 4: the force can have a strong influence on the weak-minded, this store owner is strong-minded, so it doesn't work. This trick also doesn't work on high-ranking jedis and very powerful force users (either light side or dark side). You seem to have a good grasp on the storyline (or future storyline), are you a force user & can see the future ?🤣 You're partly right about Anakin: when they're young, they can use the force by accident, but it takes training to use it at will. Remember Yoda & Luke in ep.5--Luke: I can use the force; Yoda: but you can't control it. And you did it right about the order of watching (4-5-6 before 1-2-3), it gives all the backstory: who are Anakin & the Emperor, what happened to the jedi order & more--and there is a spoiler in ep.3 that could ruin ep.6 if you watch them in numerical order. That's what I did, but back in the day, the prequels weren't made, so we had no choice. I watched them in the same order, then again a 2nd time from 1 to 6 (for 2nd run, no more spoilers left, so it allowed me to catch all little details that I forgot). I can't answer more questions without spoiling you, so you'll have to watch episodes 2 & 3 to get them (and it's also my own way to manipulate you into watching them). The phantom menace ; is Darth Sidious ! who is the single greatest representation of the Sith emerging from - thought (extinction) .. but Darth Sidious plan was to infiltrate the republic and create division which would ultimately effect the Jedi order, .. which was his primary target!! so in this movie Darth Sidious creates a trade dispute preventing access via trade routes to Naboo, however Ben Kenobi’s master Qui Gon realised there is no purpose in it, thus allowing the senate to focus on a way in which to settle the dispute!! and at the same time without being detected!!!allow Darth Sidious the necessary time to begin play for a place within the senate and then make way for his true mission …. eradicate the Jedi order …. The story continues

Yeah this reaction is not your best, you talked over a lot of answers. I don't know if you are trying too hard or what, but you didn't pick up on a lot of very clearly explained things many of which you were talking over. Only Kit Fisto uses a lightsaber that can be used underwater. Queen Amidala has NOTHING to do with the rule of the Emporer. She is only the Queen of the Naboo, nothing more, and is more like a President than royalty as she is elected. 12:53 that's Keira Knightly playing the decoy.
