If you look at the Indus script at the entrance, it shows that it was built between 2000 BC and 5000 BC. During excavations-not just done by the British, but also by many kings in medieval times who dug for research-so they found him. the symbol on the gold coin in Hastar’s statue's hand? It matches designs from the Gupta period, suggesting that maybe the temple was discovered or revived during that time. People back then might've polished or redesigned the icon of two wheat stalks-these represent his mother, Purti Ki Devi-into Hastar’s human form in his honor. It also hints at mankind's first evil traits-greed and lust. Now, this is just a possible theory-it may or may not be true cuz I'm a historian and I work at research & development for creative projects like movies, series, and novels. So, yeah... Many people didn't notice such a clear hint that vinayak's mother went to hastar. Vinayak's mother told Vinayak that he's going to vaidya(doctor) but later he tells the coachman(ghora gari chalane wala) to bring her to wada. She went to hastar with vinayak's injured brother,she heard about the legend that hastar's touch makes anyone immortal but she wasn't sure if it was a blessing or a curse so she offered vinayak's brother to hastar for healing him/giving him immortality but then inside the womb she probably noticed that hastar isn't anything godlike but a demon and vinayak's brother turned into the undying suffering while it was happening she took one of the gold coin of hastar and probably got injured during the process full of hassles of summoning hastar and just getting into the cave and escaping in hurry. The sequel of Tumbbad might just be about Vinayak's brother because if vinayak's brother just died his character would've been too unnecessary to even be there in the story because even without him the story could be the same. My theory is vinayak's brother somehow managed to escape the womb just like the "Daadi". Pandurang won't ever get back to the wada because he is free of greed now but Vinayak's brother will pass on the secret of hastar to someone just like Daadi did and the cycle will repeat again.

I think that sarkar is Vinayak's grandfather....his father died and that woman in painting is vinayak's dadi...when the dadi is first shown you can spot her clothing and other things is similar to that woman in painting...vinayak is sarkar's grandson not his son. Mera theory ye hai ki vinayak ki maa ne vinayak ka injured bhai ko leke hastar ke paas gaya tha hoping ki hastar uske bhai ko bacha le.
