Nice adventure Matt! Alger is an awesome spot! Would like to go back some time. Great to see you conquer some fears!

Matt, great to see you back out on the trail again, solo no less! I really enjoyed the video, the food, the stories, the whiskey(lol) and of course the scenery. I’ve never camped at Alger creek, so it was interesting to see what it’s like. I think you made the right decision not continuing on to Dobbs, there aren’t a lot of good camp sites and from what you described it was probably slim pickings up there. I’m looking forward to your next adventure, take care brother.

Yea. I’ve been to dobbs a few times and judging by the amount of people heading that way, I knew it would be slim pickings. I hope you are doing well and hope your house was unscathed from the fire

@@Matthew-Dunn I’m doing ok, my house is still standing. We only lost one house in RS, terrible but it could have been a lot worse. I’m very grateful to all the firefighters who worked their asses off to keep my town protected. True heroes!

Really enjoyed this Matt, it's been so long since I have solo camped, solo's are always great for forest bathing, your story rings true, pride isn't worth it when family is concerned, both of my parents are gone, everyday I miss them. You're a blessed man, see you soon.

Awesome video Matt. Something about solo trips really is unbeatable. I enjoyed the story telling. I know you well enough, but feel like I learned a bit more about you through this story. Hope we meet again on the trail sometime soon.

Thanks dude. My mom’s side is all from the south. Some good southern recipes to be had. See you out there brother!

Always look forward to your content. I go out mostly alone. Kind of spoils you to set your own pace, leave when you want etc. Enjoyed.

i like the meal cozy thing. great scenes from the woods! alone is always a little funny/ not like it really makes a difference but it feels more scary. glad you were able to have some solitude even with the other groups in the area plus that does make the solo a little easier... sounds like you will get out more this way that's great/ thanks for taking us along

Thanks, Thorn. Going alone is defiantly something I can get used to for sure

Pretty good shots on this one... Good enough that it almost looked like another state with the angles you took.

Thanks man. It’s pretty and has running water. That was memorial weekend so more people than normal.

@@Matthew-Dunn Having access to water is really a key thing in our area. I hike slow enough. Adding 4-5 liters of water makes for a rough day. Be interesting to see how (if/ when) things open back up.

Alger creek is such a nice spot to beat the hustle and bustle of life down the mountain. You set up that tent quick with the KZbin magic! Loved the story of your grandma and the food.

Thanks man. I meant to say dumplings instead of Biscuits and Gravy. But her B&G was on point too. Thanks for watching. Almost time for some desert trips again.
