They did change the label on Maker's 46! I did a tour there for a bachelor party back in March, and they told us that they changed the label at the request of bartenders who kept accidentally grabbing 46 instead of regular Maker's because the labels looked so similar. So they said they went with the red one to make it easier to pick out in a busy bar

Just getting into whiskey not made by Jack or Jim. Went on my first “bourbon hunt” last week. Goal was simply to find a Buffalo Trace ($23)Store has a monthly lottery; $50 1 ticket, $100 3 tickets. So based your top 10 B-team video, found Jill’s #2 Old Forester 1920 ($64). Added Benchmark Full Proof ($26). Of the items winners could choose, I was eyeing the EHTaylor Barrel for $110. Three other items I didn’t know anything about. Then I saw your video on the state lottery drop Will won 3rd in. Turns out I got drawn 1st and scored Old Forester 2023 Birthday Bourbon $140. Thanks for all the information in your videos. Loving the channel.

The Live bottle you passed on was probably a gem. As I was told by a store owner who had a barrel himself and sold a bottle of it to me, its the Stagg mash bill given to the Firefly facility and finished again for a period of time. The Firefly facility has an amphitheater where they hold live music events and a special bottle of the Live is sold for each event. The one I have is a vanilla bomb.

I'm not sure if TJ reads all these comments but he needs to know he's not wrong about Scotch. Everyone who has offered him Scotch has offered him single malt or something malted which he clearly doesn't like. Even Rye Law is entirely malted and 47% malted barley too like most Scotch so I reckon he wouldn't like it. No one has offered him grain whisky though in all these videos. I don't know if its because zero independent bottlings get out there but things like Strathclyde, Dumbarton, North British, Cameronbridge etc would all work better for a bourbon fan and be a new and interesting experience. So, TJ if you read this. Ask Scotch people for grain whisky! And if you don't like that - you won't like any of it!

If you see TN distillate on a bottle its more than likely from TDG. Dickel really doesn't source out that much. TDG makes a ton of of whiskey. They just dont disclose it to the public.

Yup, The same thing here in the Charleston SC region. The Bars & Restaurants get the allocated stuff. In Summerville one can find Johnny Drum, Willett 4 (reasonably priced) , Old Granddad 114. On occasion, you'll see Buffalo Trace @ 35-50% above MSRP. Maybe you might want to try Wild Turkey Rare Breed Bourbon & Rye. I like the RB Rye better, but both are very good. Our selection the in lowcountry is nothing like your hunts in GA. My everydays are 4 Roses Single Barrel, Johnny Drum Old Granddad 114. Happy whiskey hunting. I like your videos. Cheers !

I live in Vallejo where Savage & Cooke is made and it is indeed their own distillate and they are now also farming their own grains locally also. Great pick up for the price but the wine cask finishes definitely not for everybody. Had some custom blends from them that are absolutely delicious. 16:04
